I come from RzeszówI live in Krakow now but I vist Rzeszów because my parets ans my wife's parent live there. I like Rzeszów very much. I would come back there, but my wife works at the university in Krakow and she does not want to give up it. Anyway finding a good job in Rzeszów can be a bit problematic, but I understend you are sure you will have good one.

Was wondering if you ever made the move to Rzeszów, and how you're going with the English teaching? Because I'm considering doing the same later in the year.

My husband's family and most of the Polish people we know in the States are from Rzeszów. I've been there to visit them and it is a beautiful place. The people we know in Warsaw who live in apartments are jealous of the people in Rzeszów, because their American relatives send money to their families and they've been able to build beautiful homes with the money. There is some amazing craftsmanship in that area.

Hi all, Phil here, currently living in central Rzeszow with my Polish wife and enjoying the sunshine :)

My Polish language skills right now are limited to simple greetings more or less, dosent seem to be many people from Rzeszow on this forum but if anyone is living in Rzeszow, whether Polish, English or from any other part of the World, and would like to chat, or maybe meet up for a beer sometime, then just let me know :)

Thanks!

Phil

Just a bump to see if there's any changes in the Rzeszow population of English speakers :)

MIPK, are you still on course for mid Oct arrival?

Cheers all!

There's a guy that has moved to Stry¿ów which is just outside Rzeszów. He may well venture into Rzeszów from time to time. His name is Dave.

Hi Phil. I'm an English guy living in Rzeszow, and just registered on this forum to see if there were a few other 'native English speakers' out there in Rz. At present I know only one other!... I'm married to a Polish girl, too - I guess that what brings a lot of guys like us out here.

Great stuff, looks like we might have the green shoots of a little expat community right here in Rzeszow ;)

If either (or both) of you want to meet up for a beer let me know. I'm right in the center and can make just about anytime, just let me know when, guess the irish pub would make the best place to go as everyone seems to know its location?

Hi guys. A beer sounds great. I'm a little on my uppers til Thursday, so ... I guess the Irish pub's good as anywhere. How about Friday 6ish?

And MIPK ... This is balmy for late October. Seriously. The winters take a bit of getting used to.

Cheers for now.

does anyone know the name of the mountain pass where 60,000 Red Army soldiers died in eventually taking the strategic point from the Nazis? I believe it is a little south of Rzeszow

This Friday 12th, there's going to be a group of people meeting at Dessa (not sure where that is, but it's central Rzeszow - can't be too hard to find) - it's a bar/restaurant, I think. The group call themselves 'English Club', and they're a mix of native-English speakers and Poles; they meet once a month for a few beers and to talk. If either/both of you can make it ... The group will be fairly obvious - an eclectic bunch of folk speaking English (which is pretty rare in RZ). They're very welcoming. I hope to be there myself, so ... See you if you can make it. They meet at 7pm.

Sounds great but don't think I'll make it. Still trying find place to stay in rzeszow & have family visiting the girlfriends folks at the weekend so prob on a short leash.
Dessa is in the Rynek beside the tourist office. Hopefully will make the next one.
Still need to catch up for a beer at some point. Will pm my mobile number as might be easier to organize something that way rather than checking forum irregularly.

@ Finbar: Does this English Club you wrote about meet on the same day every month. For example the 2nd Friday of every month. I've just moved to Rzeszów and am interested in meeting English speakers... Thanks!

Merged thread:
New in Poland, and want to make friends...

Hey all! I've just moved to Rzeszów, and am interested in making new friends. So hearing from anybody in the area would be great. Even if you're in Kraków, I would love to hear from you. I go to Kraków most weekends anyways... :)

Also, I'm looking for people who would be interested in going on weekend trips to various destinations in Europe. For example, I would really like to plan a trip to London for February...

Thanks!
