I'd be glad to chat with you although I don't know if I'd be able to help you with moving to Poland.I think someone who already moved to Poland from another country will be better in this case.

honest answer its hard work mate. i live in wroclaw but getting work is not easy, all i would say build up your bank balance and work hard on the language, at least it will give you a chance.

that aside the country is amazing and would swap for anything.

Agreed, the more cash you can land with the better.

100.00 GBP = 475.011 PLN (today)

Maybe:
100.00 GBP = 475.011 PLN (today)

You don't typically get that unless you have a very good currency broker working for you.

If it's 4.75 you will at most exchange places (Kantor) get something around 4.65 for your quid.
They can be found in city centres, inside supermarkets, at shopping malls, btw, like a shop or kiosk that changes money - in the UK we usually would call them a Bureau de Change.

Consider Jajah IP telephony for phone calls home to chat to mates etc, cheapest way that I know of. No special phone needed, use any phone nearby and your computer or you can use Jajah direct if no computer (I think).

Don't use Jajah to dial UK phone numbers that start 0845 ! Just been charged 26p a minute to find out an eBay seller in the UK gave me a false tracking number and that's probably why I haven't received my item from him! Can't track and trace FF prefixed packets online btw. If you can't find an alternative standard number to an 0845 number on saynoto0870 then don't use Jajah to call 0845s or 0870s and the like.

No one told you about the exchange program? For every 50,000 Poles that move to the UK, they have to send a Brit.

Well , my friend. It is good to move around the world and learn something new form different cultures. As an english native you wont have a problem to find a job in such fields like IT or banking. You can always become a native teacher at private schools however I would like to make you aware that many times you will get angry here becasue of the people. Customer service is the most enoying part of Poland. It is getting better but still lots of things to improve.I dont know what kind of job you are looking for but if you are a professional and If you get a well paid job (oh yes, it is possible)you might become a competitor to polish and that`s not good. They will do everything what they can just to keep the job. In general polish people can not work as a team in most cases. It is a weakness of polish society. Each of them wants to be the best and it makes unhealthy competition. I knew an English girl she worked in Warsaw. Her salary was higher than in the UK! She left a job after few months. Polish made her feel unwelcomed very qiuckly. She was a treat to them in terms of work. They just made her tired mentally by not making friendship with her, ignoring, gossip etc. There was another foregin guy. They complained against him he talks to loud over the phone while other polish friends talk the same way!!!! Most of Polish think they are previlege in the society by having such job and they are ready to do anything it takes to keep this sort of job. Polish, if you see somebody is better then you, be professional and learn, cooperate instead of playing some dirty politics. Of course , dont get scared. It all depends if you are treat to Polish or not and if your job is well paid or not. Outside of the office people are serious but if you get a true friend he/she will do all to make you feel welcome in the country and their hospitality will be bigger than you ever imagin! Overall you will enjoy staing in Poland but be ready to come accross some difficulties here. Good luck to you!
