Hi I've recently moved here and don't know many people. Just wondered if there any English speakers here who would like to chat.

If anyone has any advice/tips on places to go etc, I would like to know.

Thanks.

We've really come to enjoy Pub Lolek, in Mokotow Park. Great BBQ and my son ceases to have a blast for hours on end with the kids/toy structure. Don't worry, it's not all kids. It's large and pretty lively on the weekends.

What do you enjoy doing? Warsaw seems to have everything :0)

I will have to check it out, thanks Chipmunk..at least someone replied :o

Ha I have a son so everything has to be all kids :)

I would like to go swimming, take my son to some free museums/exhibitions etc but I don't know anywhere. Websites about Warsaw recommend things that are quite a distance from me.

So u r new to Warsaw. Ok Bemowa is on the edge of the city with no museums. Not exactly the cultural center of Warsaw so u have to move to go to the museums. Lots of nice trams to take u to the center. Most museums are free on Thursdays I believe? Take your kid for a walk in Kampinos or Lazek (Forest) Bieleny. Nice places. There is also an outdoor swimming pool in Kolo, Wola. Enjoy! As well u can check out this http://www.artbem.pl/old/kalendarz.php. Run it through google translator if you don't know Polish.

I'm living in Bemowo. unfortunatelly, there aren't many places to go :(. except students' pub, cinema, club which is called Karuzela. it's on Konarskiego str.
The best clubs, pubs are located in the centre of the city or in the Praga district.

Thanks for responses.

dcchris- I will have a look on museum websites to find out if they are free on Thursday. I will also check the forest this weekend (weather permitting).

sobieski-I haven't heard of Bielany, how far is it?

nana- I have also noticed there isn't much to do in Bemowo, there are a couple of nice parks that I have been to though. You're right, the best clubs/pubs are in the centre but I don't go clubbing any more. Not that I know anyone to go with he he.

Museums in Warsaw as a rule are free on Sunday (except for temporary exhibits).
