Hello everyone,

I've been spending a few days lurking on the forum - great to find a good group of people online.

I recently moved to Poznan for a few months to work out of my company's office here. I'm originally British, but live in the US. I've really enjoying discovering KontenerArt and Reset, and I even found a nice gym last week, so I'm settled ... but I'd love to get to know some more expats or locals in Poznan.

Pls feel free to message / email me ... or if there's sufficient impetus for a meetup, that works too :)

If you search the threads for Poznan meet ups , you will find there is already a bunch that meet in Poznan...

True true - I couldn't see any future planned meetups though.

Come to Kuchnia Chrisa, underneath the Teatr Nowy - the address is Dabrowskiego 5, literally two minutes walk from Most Teatralny. There's a regular multilingual meeting there of the Poznan Language Exchange Club - regularly, there's about 25-30 people there, and we'd love to have you there! Usually, there's a mix of expats and locals - really, it's exactly what you're looking for.

The next meeting (and indeed, every meeting) is at 7pm onwards on Thursday at Kuchnia Chrisa - http://kuchnia-chrisa.pl/index.php?page=contact for exact details how to get there.

Hopefully see you there!

I've just found out that there will be even more expats there - there's a current project in Poznan with people from other European countries, so it will truly be an international meeting :)

(do your best to come, and that applies to anyone else in Poznan!)

what makes you think your kind is welcome around here?

(just kidding, though it would be funnier if I didn't have to put in a disclaimer)

I'm too lazy to mail right now, but of course you can take part - every Thursday, Kuchnia Chrisa, underneath the Teatr Nowy, Dabrowskiego 5. It starts at 7, but I recommend that you come at 8pm for the first time, just to make sure that there's a nice crowd there to say hello to :)

Hello, y'all :-)
I've been living in the Poznan area (about 10 miles north of Poznan) for some 10 years now, but have accidentally "stumbled" over this fine website only today (7-19-11).
I know this thread is kind 'a "old", but since I'm busy all weekdays, I wondered if there were any more or less regular meetings of ex-pats and English speakers in the Poznan area on Saturday afternoons / evenings or Sundays / holidays.
I'm nigh on 51 years old, male, not looking for "hook-ups" nor free translations (even though I really don't speak much Polish), nor free language courses!
I speak American English, with some people claiming I've gotten the "Southern Talk" real bad (to those who feel they can't cope with that: Bless your hearts!), and German if and when I absolutely have to, but no Polish :-)
I'm looking forward to hearing from y'all! :-)

There will be meetings again when September comes - normally, I organise one meeting on Thursday and one on Saturday - but the Saturday one is a bit..unpredictable at the minute due to the summer season and everyone being on holiday.

Still - if you're around on Saturday night, there will be something happening :)
