Hi,
I'm a 33 year old man from Nijmegen, the Netherlands. I briefly went to an Academy of Arts, worked for a couple of years, and went back to college where I actually studied to become an English teacher (teaching English at secondary school and I also briefly taught Business Communication on Intermediate Vocational Education) and studied at University in Newport, Wales, for three months. Unfortunately, due to a tragedy in the family and some other rather unpleasant events which followed rapidly I was unable to continue my studies and I had to drop out in my final year. Since then I mainly worked in security (bars, clubs, festivals, events, etc).
The reason I registered at this forum is because I would like to meet new people, learn more about other countries and cultures, and I would love some insider's information about Poland, what to visit, what not, good clubs, cheap accomodation, national holidays / or other big events, music festivals, anything of interest really :) seeing I plan to go there on vacation some time in the future.
I would absolutely love to try and learn Polish, I already have some language courses, but it's hard to get started, especially seeing i have no one to practice with. I would also love to hear more about Poland, and for example, it's educational system.
It has been a few years since I had to drop out, so I would have to brush up on grammar and such, I still have all the books, and if I draw a blank I could always ask a few friends of mine, one teaches german at secondary school and the other one teaches English and was a collge buddy of mine. If you want I am sure we could both benefit from emailing eachother.
regards,
