1. Go outside your house/flat.

2. Approach the first person you meet and ask him/her "Excuse me, are you Polish?"

3. If necessary repeat the second step (considering the number of Poles in London,
you won't have to repeat it more than 7-8 times - if you're smart and don't ask
black or oriental looking people, then you'll lower the number of necessary repetitions
of step 2 to 5-6.)

Bob's your uncle :)

EDIT:

Or even better - approach the first stunningly beautiful woman that you see and...
just start talking in Polish to her - have a nice chat :)

Or scream "kuuurrrrrrrwaaaa" (long, vibrating R) and talk to the person, who turn his head.

Recommended opening line of the "talk": "Masz problem, ty psia parówo?"

4. If you're lazy or shy, just stay put and listen to the street. Depending on the area, it takes roughly 15 minutes to a couple of hours.

5. Get on a bus, and look through the window while travelling. After a couple of stops you'll see 'Malinka', 'Jantar', 'Polish Delicatessen', 'Polski Sklep'. Go to the shop and say 'Dzień dobry'.

6. Find you nearest news-agent with adverts in the window. Look for 'sprzątam/prasuję', 'pokój do wynajęcia', 'tanie przewozy', takie rzeczy.

If you prefer an official approach, go to Hammersmith and ask the first person, preferably white or black: 'POSK?? MI POLISZ! POSK?? PI O ES KEJ??' If a Pole, he'd give you a look and possibly walk away, if British, he'll show you the way or find you a Pole. Polski Ośrodek Społeczno-Kulturalny. Można w szachy pograć, organizują potańcówki i spotkania z weteranami. Kursy językowe, takie rzeczy. Polskie żarcie mają. Niedaleko jest ściana płaczu, robotę można załapać.

Edit:
Geez, people... I have yet to learn that forums are about quick shooting :)

Hi there,

I have been living in London for a year now and it looks like I will still be here next year. I was really busy at work throughout the whole 2010 so didn't have enough time to socialize and am now enjoying meeting new people in London. Honestly though, I find it quite hard. London is massive compared to my hometown in oland and also quite dangerous so you gotta be really careful who you hang out with.

If you still want to meet up in London send me a pm or email me at smiley709@gmail.com

Hopefully, I won't get a massive amount of work and will be able to chat with you in no time.

Hope to hear from you soon:)
