Finally, after much dithering, I've made the move to Poland.
Any suggestions where to go to meet people?
I've considered doing a language exchange, can anyone suggest where to advertise? Gumtree, for example, don't have a regional Kielce version.

Hi, I will be visiting Poland in mid July and August. My base is Lublin, which is not far from Kielce. If you like to meet, let me know so we can talk more about it. Please email to ginaz8@cox.net

You're a brave man to move to Kielce ;)

(I'm actually very curious to know how many foreigners are getting on in places like Kielce - I'd go crazy there, but I wonder about others?)

Yes, that would be great. Anyone else in or around Kielce I'd like to meet you too...

Hi people,

This message is for all of you I suppose :)

I'm trying to meet new people, learn about different cultures and countries, and hopefully make new friends.

I was hoping to go to Poland on vacation some time in the future, and I would love to hear about the best places to visit, things to see etc.

When I was still in college I spent two weeks in FYROM with 25 other students from all over Europe, and we were shown around by a group of students in Skopje and all over Macedonia, making sure we weren't overcharged for groceries, cab fare, and the such. During the day we went to all sorts of musea, monestaries, and all sorts of educational stuff, and at night they took us to the best clubs and all the places to be :)
Needless to say I had a wonderful time.
Of course I'm not expecting the same treatment as with my student's exchange, but I would love to get an insider's perspective on cheap accommodation, national holidays or other big festivals/parties/etc :D

I'm a 33 year old man from Nijmegen, The Netherlands. I briefly studied at The Academy of Arts, worked for a few years, and went back to college where I studied to become an Englsh teacher. Unfortunately, due to some unforeseen circumstances, I had to drop out in my final year, and currently I work in security (clubs, bars, festivals, events, etc).

Drop me a note,

Regards,

Jan

Kielce

I must say it's not the best place to live, however there are many much worse places in Poland!

Try CouchSurfing:

Although it doesn't seem very active, you never know!

I pass through Kielce a couple of times a year and and always up for meeting new people so you can PM me if you fancy it!

Good luck!
