Hi

I am a fun, professional, single guy living in London and am planning a weekend trip to Krakow. Having never been to Poland and as someone who does not speak Polish, i am essentially looking for a lady guide to show me around and act as a companion and translator.

I guess i am looking to make my weekend part cultural and (probably more!) social as I do enjoy music venues, bars and restaurants.

Ideally you will be 25-30, a native of Krakow (or someone who knows it well) with a good sense of fun and a laid back personality and presentable enough to accompany me to the better restaurants or bars in the city.

Please let me clarify that I AM NOT looking for a professional escort or other "professional" lady!!

If you think this is you, please do get in touch. I am planning to either come on the weekend of the 20th or 27th August.

Thanks
Ravi

your safest bet is to hire a tour guide.

Roughly translated "im (give the impression) a rich Paki looking for some Polish bird who's not a prostitute to become one"..... and maybe more....

Take a run and jump sunshine.

Yes, you are. I used to be a tour guide in Kraków, and as such I would be not allowed to accompany you in the evening going to bars and restaurants. I could lose my license.

It's just the very fact that you requested a female companion gave you away. Krakowians speak English in the main.

A rich Paki, WB? Ravi sounds more Indian to me.

Ok - I stand chastised! Sorry for any offense caused to anyone! I HAVE done this before in Italy and I had a lovely, PLATONIC(!!), time. I assumed that it would be possible elsewhere but I can see why my post has been misunderstood!! D'OH!!

Following your suggestion, I have now engaged a professional tour guide for the two DAYS that I am there! Can I ask, any suggestions on what to see? I am hoping to visit Auschwitz as well.

Well - I guess the term 'Paki' can cause some offense to some people... BUT....

Anyway, thanks for pointing me in the right direction @Bzibzioh

Do the regular "Kings Way" (Droga królewska) from Barbakan to Wawel Hill. That's one day. Auschwitz and Wieliczka the second day. If you have more time you can go and see Kazimierz and Skałka.

If I weren't married and lived in Britain, I could see the appeal of having a Polish female show me around :) However, it might be offputting for a female to have a 1-2-1 with a complete stranger.

AWESOME! Thanks so much! I am actually booked to stay in Hotel Kazimierz (on recommendation!) and I had the Wieliczka Salt mines on my list!

Oh man!! - A) I am Indian living in the UK and B) I am NOT specifically LOOKING for Polish girls! (But hey, I won't say "no" if they find me :-) :-)

I hear you mate! Well I am single and DO live in Britain but I agree with you! I shall just have to fight them off! :-)

Ok peeps - will come back and post how it was! I'm sure it will be great! Thanks for the pointers and wrist slaps for the pre-judgement!

Have a fun Sat night wherever you are and whatever you are up to.

Just a little correction: if you have a tour guide reserved for Kraków - go and see Kraków with him/her: you don't need a Kraków tour guide to go with you to Auschwitz and Wieliczka. You can go on your own. They have guides there for those specific places (Kraków tour guides have no license for Auschwitz or Wieliczka, so if they'd go they will be just a regular tourists)
