Perogi with fruit filling?

I am of fullblood Polish hertitage. I recall eating dumpling full of fruit like apple cherry, plum, etc. I grew up with variations of perogi, to include apple and prune filling. And potato, kapusta, and farmers cheese as well. But I still (after decades)have not seen the fruit filled dumplings that impressed me as a kid. I have seen somekind of fruit filled dumpling in the frozen foods at a store in Scranton. Maybe I am confusing perogi with something else. I remember them on the huge table of food at Grandma's house at Christmas.

2 problems:
- store bought food will never replace home made cooking, which leads me to another issue: memories form childhood always hold memories not real taste;)

For me the best Polish fruit filled pierogi are "pierogi z jagodami" (blueberry dumplings). They are absolutely delicious but should be home made. Though they are not served for Christmas.
They might have been dumplings with dried forest mashrooms or mashrooms and sour cabbage, as they would be usually served for Christmas.

Indeed, this place has good pierogi. For the holiday's, the line in the store is huge, and the wait sometimes over 1-2 hours!

try going there the week of wigilia, you'll spend more than 5 min looking for parking, let alone the line :)
