How many hours do people have to work? At 50.00 per week, is this single room or do all 10 people have to share?

Salary 5,65 pounds per hour

Hang your head in shame. Exploiting your fellow Poles.

That is the national minimum. Hey i have a great idea....

Why dont you go post that on an English forum and see the kind of abuse you get.

Please if anyone is considering that derisory offer of 5,65 per hour then dont.

ITS SLAVE LABOUR!!!!

No they dont work for 5.65. Even picking fruit is 7.00 an hour

Also working for less than 5.65 would be illegal hence the term national minimum.

do you want to say that your government is responsible for the slave labour?lot's of brits work for this money. i have worked for this money for 2 months last year because there was nothing else on offer.after 2 months i found much better job but my workmates stayed there.they have chosen to work instead of sitting on their bums at home.let other people decide whether they want this job or not.some of the guys out there may have no income at all.

national minimum wage is £5.52 for over 22years old
under 22 and minimum wage is £4.60.
you might be lucky to find a fruit picking job for 7pounds because its likely to be much harder work

Of course the government arent responsible for slave labour and where exactly did i say anything like that??? It was the government this implemented the minimum wage to help those on low paid salaries and force employers to pay workers what they believed to be a decent living. The truth is the government forced employers to pay more money to lessen the financial burden on the government for low paid families.

And you have completely ignored the point of my original response which was the fact that this individual was trying to recruit people to work for a pittance because regardless of whether you are employed or unemployed 5.65 an hour is a pittance.

5.65 for a 37.5 hour week works out to 211 GBP (European working directive)

The current cost of living here in the UK means that the individual would earn barely enough to get by. Either that or they will have to work 60 hours or more a week.

The have to pay 50 for accomodation a week, no mention of food, transport, fuel bills etc etc. This leaves them 161 GBP a week, but has already been pointed out above they will be expected to work over 50 hours a week.

The only winners in this situation are the employer who gets cheap labour and the recruiter who makes the commision.

Who also often have to face increasing tax bills, expensive health and safety, maternity and paternity legislation, paying for swanky company cars and expense accounts... all the usual things they whinge about.

Well, how many of those things are applicable to the employer depends on the type and size of the company. Everyone wants something for nothing, and if people are there to provide cheap labour, then that is the way it will be.

DarrenM:
the recruiter

I know of a particularly bad employment agency boss. I'm sure he's not the only one who pays late every week or month, knocks off a few pounds here and there and hopes that no-one will notice. And so on and so on...

Lets quibble over 13 pence eh??

13 pence wont even buy you a packet of crisps here in the UK

Which ever way you cut it 5.65 is a pittance...

Fruit Picking

37.5 hours x 7.00 = 262.50 - 50 = 211.50

Theme Park

37.5 hours x 5.65 = 211.50 - 50 = 161.50

So to make the same money fruit picking you will need to work more hours which is in itself just as tiring mentally and physically.

Sorry, but my friend with basic knowledge of English language managed to earn 9 pounds per hour working in laundry. You want to pay 5.65 per hour for work in theme parks and look for people who know English? BS

I have worked longer for less,
When I was 17 I worked in England peeling onions, crying for the first half hour of everyday and after each lunch break for 3.25 Pound sterling an hour. (hilarious when I look back on it)We worked in cramped conditions, about 50 people in the four bedroom house. And the English guys I worked for hated Irish people.
I flew to Nepal, with the money I made and walked the foothills of Annapurna south. I am not saying that slave labour is in anyway exceptable. I am simply giving you my experience and it was fantastic (not the peeling onion bit, or the "F@%king Paddy bit) but I met great people made a few quid and moved on, on the other hand I could have not worked and complained (there was very little work in Dublin at the time and I had no money to set up for work, I used to hit the ground running so to speak, I worked half a dozen such jobs through school and university, one month work two months holidays.

The UK is in an economic downturn.

Poland is enjoying an economic upturn since joining the EU.

The zlotych is getting stronger.

The pound grows weaker.

The cost of Petrol, food, Electricity, gas, housing is increasing month on month.

Credit is hard to obtain.

The housing market is struggling. First time buyers cant get mortgages which means there are no new buyers which means housing sales are dropping.

House prices are dropping.

British people are starting to struggle to live and pay bills. Many are seeking help with debt.

Shops are losing business and are starting to make losses.

Next month we expect another cut in interest rates.

The zlotych is worth 4.25 at this time. The cut interest rates will see the Pound grow even weaker against the zlotych.

This will make it even less worthwhile for Polish workers to come to the UK to work for 5.65

Good luck in your search!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So... ? In reality these jobs are probably not even worth these 5,65... But sure, better complain, look for excuse to do nothing and blame immigrants, who "took all the jobs"...

BTW One could get that incredible idea that If employer had to pay more, the prices would just go up... but who cares, better scream, blame everybody around and then hug a tree... that will definately save the world.

Who is blaming the immigrants???

In fact where did i refer to anyone as an immigrant??

Im blaming no one.....Im saying that 5.65 an hour is a poor wage and is exploitation.

Im actually defending the very people this agency are trying to recruit!!!

Some of you are working out how much you would earn and have left over after your £50 accommodation.

Eg.

Fruit Picking

37.5 hours x 7.00 = 262.50 - 50 = 211.50

Theme Park

37.5 hours x 5.65 = 211.50 - 50 = 161.50

What about tax? We all pay tax... you need to decrease it further.

Ever considered Lanzarote in the Canary Islands?
You can own your own business out here for less than £25000 ... work for yourselves ... get sunshine all year round and just watch the rest of Europe sink as you sit on the beach!
OK it's not quite that easy but we do have a Polish restaurant for sale here - certainly beats working for someone else for whatever wage you get!
PM me for details!
