The ones who can afford new cars and toys are the illegal immigrants who come to this country, work and don't pay taxes. I know of some Polish people who are here illegally. They work but don't pay taxes. They have a new $30.000 car, new $25.000 boat and a new $10.000 cycle, they have the most expensive cell phones, best TV's, etc. They like to show off to their friends and family in Poland what they have.
I don't know any Americans who can afford so many new toys.

the illegal immigrants work much harder than Americans this is why they can afford to buy a new car and houses for cash. i have met many Polish illegal immigrants that run businesses, pay taxes (illegals have tax number) and own million $$$ homes.

Not true. The majority of Americans are living form pay-check to pay-check trying to make ends meet. They work hard, pay for their homes, pay taxes and not everyone can afford a new car.

I thought Americans were working 2 jobs to help support Halliburton and other contractors.

one Polish friend of mine is a cop in Chicago and he pays taxes , yet somehow he managed to buy a realitively new Mercedes for cash. How did he do it? He used his Police salary to buy and renovate a home which he then flipped for a $200,000 profit in a year's time.

Most Americans live from pay-check to pay-check because they spend most of their disposable income and abuse credit cards to live beyond their means. Most Immigrants on the other hand spend less and save more. Notice that most Poles own their homes and their mortgages are paid off.

Witek...You always seem to state false facts about America. Anyone who works for cash doesn't get taxes taken out and ends up with a higher weekly pay. I've done this and I still do and I'm not an illegal. Many people do work on the side for extra spend money. Like I said, you can't tell people about America without living here..and 2 years doesn't count.

No, they send the $$ home. I never see mexicans in 6 figure cars. They pimp out their bicycles and lowriders :)

disposable income

Did you just make this word up? What is disposable income? Any smart people save money and work hard. You can't say most of us live pay check to pay check. Some of us do get paid more than others you know :)

I do agree with the CC abuse. Too many Americans fall for these stupid CC companies that have 20% APR and end up not being able to pay more than the minimum and end up going deep into debt. It's sad but you can't say this about most people. It depends on where you are in America...it's a huge country Witek :)

disposable income is gross pay minus taxes and deductions.

ok, but who doesn't spend some of their money after taking care of bills?

I do see your points Witek and I don't want to seem like I'm attacking you, but you give others a bad impression when in fact not everyone lives like this.

if someone is a illegal then that person may still get a tax number to pay income taxes. Usually the boss forces his illegal workers to get this tax number because it allows him for more worker expenses and tax deductions

I met a person who had a tax number. I had no idea what it was at first. I always thought tax numbers were for businesses... not individuals. Individuals had SS numbers. I guess, since it is pretty hard to get a SS number, business owners learned how to go quickly around it, as well as illegal immigrants.

Regardless of all the b*ching and bashing of USA, by some unhappy complainers here, there are plenty of immigrants who'd do anything to have a piece of a legal paper and stay here. I hope, the ones who qualify will be granted some kind of way to make themselves legal.

you just use the SS number of someone who is back in Poland. it is common practice with both illegals and employers

From the Gub-ment of Canada website: canadianeconomy.gc.ca/English/economy/disposable.html

Disposable income consists of all wages and salaries received by persons, self-employed and other unincorporated business income, interest and dividend income received by persons, plus unemployment insurance benefits and other transfers paid from governments to persons, minus income taxes (but not customs or sales taxes on commodities) and social security premiums paid to governments.
