Places to visit Poland for the New Year?

Hey everyone, my plans to visit the Mazurian lakes with the girlfriend have fallen through.
We're starting from Lublin and were thinking of a nice place where we can get away to for Sylwester and a few days. I've been entrusted with the decision, lol!

Have been to Krakow before so would be easy to get around as i know the area. Anyone got any other ideas?

Whats Zamosc like? Or any other places within a couple of hours radius from lublin?

Plus anyone got any good ideas where to look for hotels and not get hugely overrated tourist prices? Should probably start searching in polish!

Thanks
Rusty

hi rusty.
zamosc is beautifull, you would like it-especially the old town.
my english friend liked the place but got bored after a few days so i would recommend this town for a short term stay only.there are a few pubs and restaurants around the old town.prices are good, everythings is much cheaper than in big cities (a pint of zywiec in a pub cost around 0.8-0.9£,pizza 3-4 pounds).
the hotels are expensive but still cheaper than in the uk and their quality is good.
if you want some cheap accomodation i can recommend you one restaurant/motel.its name is "ORZEL" and is on the way to KRASNOBROD (lipska street). one night may cost you up to 10£pp and the rooms are quite comfy.the restaurant is about 10-15min walk from the town centre.
