hello all,
iīll be travelling poland for two weeks starting in wroclaw monday next week. so far, iīm thinking of the following itinerary:
wroclaw-krakow
krakow-torun and chelmno
torun- gdansk
gdansk- gizycko
gizycko-biebrzanski park
biebrzanski park-warszawa
warzsawa-back to munich somehow. via berlin or praha, i donīt really care, both are beautiful cities if i still have time for a stopover left :o)

can anyone suggest a cool place to go up northeast other than gizycko? and in or near biebrzanski park?
iīm slowly clicking my way through various bus operator homepages... any advice on how to get where i want to go? i couldnīt find information on a bus service to chelmno on the net for example. is there one?

thanks for your help!!!!

Maybe Malbork? I'm not sure your feelings on Castles, but this is an enormous pile of bricks and worth seeing IMO.

I am not sure if there is bus service to Chelmo. I did see a bus go thru town while I was there. The bus service is usually pretty good. Malbork is a must see. It is the largest brick castle in Europe. You can stay there for about $100 night and there is a train that runs there regularly. Stutthof Concentration camp is another good stop. There is bus service there but I hear it is about a 2-3 hr. ride from Gdansk. There is also a castle in Bytow, but not as impressive as Malbork and a railroad museum in Konscyrnia ( sorry not sure about the spelling). The beach on the Baltic coast is nice. we were in Sopot, which is about 15 mins by train from Gdansk. any other questions, please let me know, tom

thank you lads! Malbrok is on the list now :o)
Iīm stopping in Oswiecim, just didnīt enclose it in the list as that seemed inappropriate to me- itīs not a touristic interest that brings me there, but not wanting history to be forgotten and therefore repeat itself.
How did you get to Chelmno, Tom?

Check out www.virtualtourist.com travel pages forum for quick help in traveling. I see folks sometimes waiting in stations on their laptops loggin in and getting a fast response and while there check out some of my trip through Poland (same member name)

Just watch the pickpockets. I almost had mine picked in the mines shop except I was quite aware. The shopkeeper then told me after they left. Hmmmm why didn't she say something before. What if my wallet was snatched. Durna cobieta!!!!

come to think of it, maybe you should watch for pickpockets in Berlin too--oh and Munich, can't forget Warszawa, or Krakow too, Torun and Gdansk, Toronto, Washington, Seattle, Tokyo, L.A, Prague, Vienna, Kiev..

pickpockets are everyhwere, its stupid to say "watch out" for them. its kind of given. You don't go around watching out for axe murderers just because someone may have decapitated someone.
