Wireless Internet in Poland?

Hey all,

I'm travelling to Poland in January for a 5-6 month stay. I'm staying with a local family in Warsaw, I don't know who yet so I can't really ask them anything at this stage. I was wondering if I could get some help regarding wireless internet in Poland. I'm travelling over there with a laptop of some sort, but I don't really want to have to go to an internet cafe or Wi-Fi hotspot to access the net as most of my internet usage takes place in the evenings or late at night. So, I was wondering, is it possible to get some kind of wireless card in Poland that gives coverage all over the country, or at least the big cities? It needs to work out so that I can access it from a house at any time, and it needs to be of a decent speed, preferably over 300 kb/s. My research on Polish internet isn't working out very well so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Tom
did you get any response to your question. A friend of mine is going over there for a year, and trying to get her set.

Most of the large cell companies provide wireless cards for laptops(orange, era, plus). The only issue, is that they also require 1 or 2 year contracts like they do for cell phone service.

Also, if you dont have a Polish ID, I think its hard to get the service. Hopefully one of the locals will chime in with specifics.

You don't want to go to a hotspot. Have you checked the coverage of hotspots in Warsaw ? You might be lucky.
