Do people feel that Poland was betrayed in WW2 by its Allies? Did they have an obligation to Poland?

Of course this in the past and this is not to stir up animosity but to have people's opinions on this issue be heard.

Also article touches upon the issue slightly so please feel free to post article that discusses this issue in more detail.

Of course they were betrayed and let down after WW2, but answer me one thing, what the hell does it do any good stirring up bad feeling and opening old wounds?
Poland was zhit-on, but its about time they moved on and stopped dwelling in the past and dragging this terrible history with them and broke free and concentrated on the future.

If we followed your logic why discuss history at all. Also some might not agree Poland was betrayed. Quick note, growing up in the US you don't even know how distored
history is in the materials they teach in schools. Also curious if people know the truth and In case you didn't notice Polish people moved on long time ago.

oh that stereotype we live in the past. Am I holding this against Britain no, just discussing your dishonesty.

see when your country is the one screwing up and invading and exploiting people in India and Africa and countless regions of the world you want to move on and forget it as soon as possible.

one of the several reasons the west is disliked. me I really don't care and moved on because britain is on the decline and the tables will turn.

if you werent quite so boring matti i might play with you some more but its a lovely day outside so im going for coffee

but on a final note, history tells us quite clearly that poland was arse fukt by germany in just a matter of days and if england didnt come charging to the rescue your name would probably be klaus or franz or ermintrude or something like that which, given the superiority of germany to poland, might not be a bad thing so i can see why you are still upset...

So in other words all you want to do is to create antagonism between people, kind of pathetic really!!!!!

Yawn!!!

P.S. If they had got up off their scared ass earlier then maybe just maybe, the war would have been finished earlier and millions of Poles, Jews and others would have been saved, but oh no, all we here is that the great America saved our ass, WHAT A LOAD OF CRAP !!!!!

Sorry admin, but Sunday morning hangover and in fighting mood Grrrrrr

So lets not teach history in school because it might antagonize people. Ukpolska your a coward, afraid of hurting peoples feelings. History is to be learned from as not to repeat the past that is why we teach it. Get some balls.

if I got bitten my neighbors dog a week ago and then again two days ago. I will learn to avoid that dog. by posting a quote doesn't make it true.

George Santayana
Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

I can quote hundreds more that tell you to learn history if it makes you feel better.

also like to apologize to mans best friend because it was not my intention to ever compare you to our so called friends.

Then you will be staying in the US then and not coming back in "five years"?
After being in the US so long you might as well call yourself an immigrant, because you seem to have lost touch with your Polishness.

It just shows how little this idiot knows about current affairs in Poland. It was announced on both Polsat and TVP this week that Chinees workers as well as workers from Ukrania will be brought in because of the desperate shortage of workers here in Poland. It looks like too many "rats" have "jumped ship".

Of cource the biggest betrayal of all of Europe in ww2 was Americas unwillingness to get invoved in a Europian problem!

UK Polska posted a quote by Hegel, very apt here. Did we learn from Hitler's genocidal practices? I fear not. Look at the genocide against the Serbs, killing on a large scale for the fault of a few wacky politicians. That was genocide according to legal classification (Genocide Convention 1948) but politics reared its ugly head and botched everything up. As for the Poles being betrayed, well, I disagree with Hairball. America had a moral obligation to step in but was not bound to do so. I don't think they betrayed anyone as they signed no treaties to intervene in the event of war. The America of now would step in for sure but, then, the agenda was different. Why not Australian intervention or Chinese?

Actually, England did NOT come to the rescue. Initially England didn't have the balls, then it was too weak, so Americans had to come to England's rescue. Poles played their part in rescuing England too.

Chamberlain had more than a couple of seconds of thought in the years leading to 1939. Also, I would think the English did have more than a couple of seconds to think before they signed military pacts with Poland. Or perhaps they knew they wouldn;t honor it anyway?

At the start of the 5th century AD, the Romans betrayed Britain. How dare they?
So I urge everyone here not to buy Italian cars.
