Harry:
I fail to understand why people think that the place they were born, or where their parents were born, in any way identifies them or gives them any identity.

so basically you are running from?? with 7 different passports and no identity
to tell authoritys who you are what country you belong, then its safe to assume
you come from a terrorists country and you stole those passports and you no
longer have a family or home... with a attitude like that. someone could just
lock you up and throw away the key and none would be the wiser.. because
you are really a nobody.. with no identity!! gosh I really dont know what we
are thinking with so many gazillion people in this world who really dont need to
Identify themselfs... pa-leassssssssssssssssss..

Harry:
I tend not to think of myself as any nationality.

So you are "a citizen of the world" ? Not surprising at all.

Wow. You really do have superb reading skills. Where did I say I have seven passports? I said I qualify for seven; I currently only have passports from two countries. I can not have all seven because three of the countries would have problems with me having passports from certain other countries.

It's very easy and perfectly legal to have several different passports. All you need to do is have parents born in different countries (but countries which allow nationality to be passed to children not born in that country), yourself be born in a country that neither of your parents were born in, then live in a few countries long enough to naturalise (just make sure that those countries will allow naturalised citizens to keep other nationality and that none of the countries you already hold nationality of will have a problem with you acquiring other nationality).

As far as I'm aware, Neverland has never issued passports but I'll defer to your expert knowledge as you are the person who appears to have spent a lot of time in the place.

It is safe to assume that Harry was born somewhere. As for the country, borders change i.e. someone born before 1972 (?) in Polish Wroclaw will qualify for both Polish and German citizenship. One of my friends was born in the UK emigrated to Australia then moved to Cook Islands when it was under the New Zeeland protectorate. He is actually carrying UK, Australian, new Zeeland, and Cook Island passports.
It looks that Harry is not unhappy, seems to be confident and well informed. As for identity his own is strong enough no need for for a crutch. Patricia, do not despair soon enough Harry will be assigned bio-identity and shrtly later unique resonant circuit and we will be able to keep tabs on him (and terminate him if need arises).

There is nothing in the topic about Nazi death camps.
This discusion is about: ' "Poland's Concentration Camp"???'
Nothing there about WWII camps, it is assumed by most of the participants, but not specifically defined.
Referring to the KZ Auschwitz Germans were killing Poles as well, but while Poles were sent there for specific reason (intelectuals, clergy, military, criminals, disobedient) it was the policy of the German government at the time to exterminate Jews - all Jews, all ages (leaf through the "Main Kampf").
KZ Auschwitz was a concentration camp, it was not designed to murder people. It was a satellite camp Birkenau which was a place specifically set up to kill and dispose. Some survived and even thrived in KZ Auschwitz Stanislaw Grzesiuk for example seem to enjoy his advantages over others in this environment ("Boso ale w Ostrogach"). Others were not so adaptable and perished(my grandfather stopped eating when family was evicted from their home as it was taken over by Germans and died - not a heroic end). Consequences of this Social Darvinism are with us today

Germans were ahead of the world in this respect as well.
Gays (gay) - I think homosectuals is more precise.
Nazi - in context of this discussion I will use German. The Nazis were controlling German government at the time, they were legaly elected. Policies of this government had overwhelming support of the German population. Until the Battle of Stalingrad Hitler was the most popular leader ever of any country.

Seems to be not only silly, but abusive as well.
Possibly you are envious (I am) that Harry is not burdened with citizenships nationalisms etc.
I am quoting my father: "When someone talks about patriotism see if you still have your walet".
Controversy is a way of enrich ones knowledge, this anonymous medium allows for thrashig thoughts one will be reluctant to voice otherwise.
Question not related: Both my parents were getting very substantial pension supplement (I think after 1992) they both were AK officers. I never asked and now is too late. Anyone knows what that was all about?

It appears you haven't read a whole lot of what he wrote on this forum. He is very much burdened with citizenship and nationalism. He holds two passports and he was interested in 5 more, but it turns out he cannot have them all. Harry's other posts are also a clear indication he is burdened with nationalism. To him, it weren't some scumbags who helped Germans to kill Jews (among others, but he concentrates on Jews) but those were Poles. In fact, only in some of his latest posts he states that "some" Poles helped Nazis. For quite a while "some Poles" meant to him the same as Poles. While he did not use the word "all", the use of a nationality's name is a generalization. It's grammar and it's a custom - not only in Poland.

janekb:

Incidentally, this is related to the other paragraph the same post as this question. AK were Polish patriots (to Harry they hunted Jews, among other activities) who formed a military underground governed by the Polish government in exile. The were also anti-communist and anti-USSR. Some Polish citizens could apply for increased pension if they could prove they were WW2 veterans. They had to apply, otherwise nobody would come and ask them to accept extra cash.
It boils down to them declaring they have been patriots in order to get a bit more.

The quote from your father looks a bit silly now, doesn't it?

No I identify myself with my country and also with my nationality, and I am not ashamed of who I am

How does an accident of birth identify you? Would you be a different person if you’d been born in Canada?
I’m most certainly not ashamed of who I am because of where I was born or my parents were born or where I have lived

Patrycja19:
you are the one who fails to understand...so it is you with the problem..

Yes I have a real problem because I don’t use an accident of birth to identify myself.

Patrycja19:

I live in Poland and I qualify for Polish citizenship.

z_darius:
He holds two passports and he was interested in 5 more, but it turns out he cannot have them all.

I’ve always known that I can not have all of them. I’m not interested in having two of them: one of them is utterly useless and the other be fairly useless and would expose me to tax liability on my income earned outside that country with no double tax agreements in place.

z_darius:
To him, it weren't some scumbags who helped Germans to kill Jews (among others, but he concentrates on Jews) but those were Poles.

Rubbish. They are Poles and they are scumbags.

z_darius:

More rubbish. Don’t tell me what I think. Judge what I think on what I post.

z_darius:

Liar. Always nice to see that you know you are full of sh*t and so have to resort to lying instead. I have never said that the AK hunted Jews. Here is what I said:

Harry:
You want to swap stories about how certain elements of the Polish resistance organised hunting missions to kill and/or capture Jews hiding in the forests?
Page 4

You then posted that I claimed the AK hunted Jews and I pointed out on page 5:
Harry:
The AK did not hunt Jews, other resistance organisations did.

You are a pathetic liar who can not win any type of debate and so you resort to bullsh*tting.

You really think that I’d waste the energy needed to give you a slap? You’re not even close to being worth that. I wouldn’t even cross the road to p*ss in your mouth if your teeth were on fire.
You can try to mock all you want. Doesn’t change the fact that Poland ran concentration camps before and after WWII. And the fact that a lot of Poles need to stop the denial and start to accept what their country and countrymen did.

I’m busted? You’re the one who has been shown to be a liar. You even lie about things like the contents of this thread, things so easy to check. God knows how much you lie about the things which are more difficult to check.

Patrycja19:

Fortunately you have no say in the matter at all. You could always vote for a party which promises to outlaw Polish citizenship through naturalisation. Oh, sorry, I forgot that you aren’t allowed to vote in Poland, are you? I’m allowed to vote here.

I pity you if you fell the need to start making physical threats and all the other nasty personal stuff. It shows that you're angry, upset and humiliated, and quite rightly so.

There are other ways to lash out though. I saw a show the other day where people were punching pillows to express their anger and frustration. Another physical outlet could be jogging on a treadmill, or riding really fast on an exercise bike - either one is well suited to someone who wants to make a lot of hot air but not really go anywhere.

The name "Polish concentration camp" is very inappropriate. I accept the new name : "German Nazi concentration camps", which was preconceived lately by ONZ. Not far from Lublin is Nazi concentration camp called Majdanek. This camp was a place of death for very much people from other nations.Today Majdanek is a remembrance place. For victims of Nazi terror a polish society founded monument of "Walk i Meczenstwa".

(not really surprising again... oy...)

Why the Jewish word? Could it because to you that's how all Jews always talk and because I dare to criticise Poles, I must be a Jew? Nice to see you bigotry coming through as always. Do you think you could make it through a single day without making a racist comment? Obviously that day won’t be today because you’ve already posted about how the Germans are horrible people.

Ozi Dan:

Like I said before son, run along. You’re a pathetic waste of space. You tell us how you love Poland and you fight a war for Poland but you have never even been here.
I love the way that you talk about ‘nasty personal stuff’. Have you considered joining the Australian cricket team? With your ability to give it out but to throw your hands up and cry like a baby when somebody gives you a slice back, you’ll fit right in with them. You’re the little toe-rag who started with the personal insults, so don’t act all offended when you get sh*t flung back at you.

And by the way: Poland still operated concentration camps before and after the war. You and your bigot friends can make all the noise you want in this thread to try and obscure the message but you can not change the simple facts of history.

The history revisionist 'Harry' has not only been active on "Polish Forums" spewing his anti-Polish hatred. His similar hate filled comments have also been seen on a particular worthless Warsaw based blog (better not to mention it as not to provide free publicity). This same blog is run by a Radio Polonia employee originally from the Ireland / UK area. His views are very similar to that of Harry's: anti-Polish, anti-Catholic, distorted view of Polish-Jewish history. The interesting thing about this particular poorly written blog is that the owner provides a link to another blog called "Harry's Place", which consists of several anonymous writers who never reveal their true identities or real names. So it is quite possible that "Harry" is nothing more than several unknown writers, and not one single individual.

Here are more facts about Harry's place:

- it is a British politicial weblog of the pro-liberation left.

- is a defender of Israel's right to exist within safe and secure boundaries. It is highly critical of Islamism and of allegedly totalitarian, pro-Islamist, and anti-Semitic tendencies on the left.

- Harry's Place was originally started by a writer using the nom de plume Harry Hatchet (aka "Harry" - none of Harry's Place writers use their full name), who was originally the sole writer. Harry was active in British anti-fascist and Marxist politics in the mid-to-late 1980s, and in this period was also a member of the Straight Left faction of the Communist Party of Great Britain.

- he became well-known among fellow contributors for his support for "orthodox" Soviet Communism.

Here is an example of the profile of one 'known' blogger on Harry's Place, Gene Zitver:

Gene blogs at Harry's Place.

Why do you blog? > Harry invited me to join Harry's Place after I posted some comments there and after he read some of my posts on a George Orwell newsgroup. I soon discovered I enjoyed sending my opinions into cyberspace and getting reactions to them.

What has been your best blogging experience? > Discovering many politically like-minded people - i.e. leftists who aren't reflexively anti-American and anti-Israel.

Gene was was born and raised in the Washington DC area, and graduated from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. In 1992 he moved to Israel, where he worked as a technical writer. He returned to the Washington area in 2000. Gene blogs at Harry's Place.

So, is "Harry" of "Polish Forums" part of "Harry's Place", or totally unrelated? Only Polish Forums knows the true IP address of "Harry", and where his hate and revisionism originate from. Harry should be banned from this forum.

I'm in no way connected to "Harry's Place". I have indeed posted on the Beatroot blog and done so under my name. I'm reasonably well known in Warsaw as I write a newspaper column here and do so under my own name.

Do explain why it is revisionist to point out that Poland operated pre and post-war concentration camps. If revising history is anything, it is claiming that Poland did not operate such camps or claiming that the camps were "seclusion" centres.

Because "Poland" didn't exist during or after WWII until 1990, that's why. It was "German Occupied Poland" during most of WWII. amd "Soviet Occupied Poland" or "Communist Poland" after WWII, and not independent "Poland". This is an important and distinct difference. It's like saying Nazi Germany's concentration camps were constructed in "Poland"...they weren't. They were constructed and operated by the Germans in "German Occupied Poland".

Any Poles of the Jewish or Catholic faith who supported and ruled under communism were never accepted by an independent Poland free of Soviet or Russian rule. They were loathed, denounced, and not accepted by citizens of a free and independent Poland.
