The Czechs did not put out fight in 1938 because they were too weak to do that, and they were left alone by the rest of Europe

I dont think you can accuse the Poles of being cowards. They have always stood up for what they believed in.

Just ask Tinky-Winky.

Really? Lets see.. defeated the Russian Army in 1920.
1939 fought the Germany army for longer than the combined British and French Army's did in 1940. And they were fighting the Soviets at the same time. They shot down a quarter of the German airforce.

Daisy, setting aside our differences for a while (we can talk about the peroxide later..;-)), you may be interested in this website.

It has the names of all the poles who were fought in the Battle of Britian, part of "the Few"....

Zion, my dear fellow, just what is your problem? Poles are going abroad for several reasons...Better money, better opportunities, to send money to their family etc.

You seem to an extremely frustrated fellow...would you care to isolate your main "problem" for all our benfit?

In the past couple of hundred years as you say we did regain our independence TWICE!!! That's a damn thing to be proud of. Not to mention that we stopped the communist march in the 1920's. (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polish-Soviet_War) Please don't voice your opinion in topics that you clearly know nothing of.

I wouldn't say poles are "a nation of toilet cleaners" etc. They have good eduction, the problem is they get the rubbish low paid jobs, becuase thats mainly where the work is. We have a massive and I mean MASSIVE population in the UK (far beyound what it needs) and there is not the great demand for skilled, but lots of unskilled low paid jobs that the British cannott aford to do or want to do. So the POles get them. Makes me wonder how long it will be before Poles refuse to be the under-dogs. For example they pay high rent a low pay: just too much of an exploit and the Poles would be more dignified in their own country of origin. The Czechs won't put up with such cr-ap jobs.

Having said that, they are welcome to stay in London where there are ample jobs for all.

- Stereotyping again, Romanian expert on Poles in UK? How many times have we proven your statements to be wrong? As for the Poles in UK doing low-paid jobs, and why, it's simple: they want to quickly and easily make as much as they can and get the hell back to their own beautiful country. That's why they're not competing for better jobs, nor most probably will they in the future. You wrote once you know well the Poles in UK, or something of this sort. In reality, you've been proving over and over again you know $hoot, and you are actually prejudiced against us. How do you know the Czechs won't take the crappy jobs? Are you some kind of psychic? Have you spoken to all of them? As for me, I've met Czechs and Slovaks working on those crappy jobs (in fact, some of them worked quite crappily). I wonder why you're clinging to this forum instead of to a Romanian, or even, ahem, Czech one, if we're such nogoods?

I want to say just one thing. I live in Poland and I laugh like hell, when I see foreigners on the first trip to Poland. Their eyes are getting bigger and bigger and their jaws drop on the floor, when they see how much Poland is different from what they been told. This is priceless!

You are totally right Oarman!

I come over to Poland , roughly once a month for about 1-2 weeks at a time - when I bring clients for a viewing trip so they can see what Poland is like , they stare in total amazement stating that Poland is nothing like what they expected !

Everyone who has come over with me has said how impressed they are with Poland, and that all their preconceptions of a 'poor' country had been shattered - they all leave with a view that Poland is a country which is heading in the right direction .... and one that will be a major player in years to come !

Watching these clients walk around Poland can be compared to looking at children let loose in a toy/sweet shop for the first time, especially when they see the beautiful women that Poland has in abundance !

I am an English guy and I visit Poland once a month and have done so for 18 months. I like the country and the people. Sure there are good and bad like in any country. My experience is that they are hard working with traditional values - we have lost that in my country. The Polish people come to the UK to work and earn money, some stay some go home. I have no problem with this. I work in the construction industry. Five years ago the Poles were coming to England and working for the English. Now they are starting their own businesses and because they work hard they do well - good luck to them. You must remember in the late 1990's when we had a recession here many, many people in the construction industry went and worked in Germany following unification because that is where the work was - this is no different from people coming from Central Europe to the UK.

One more thing, I have traveled around the country - and much of it is a bit like the Polish women - very beautiful.

Having seen the Polish driving skills, gung ho attitude and road conditions, I'm sure the quote above would be quite true.
