Does Poland offer Polish Lessons for Free?

Does Anyone know if like in Sweeden ,Germany, UK, Does the Polish State offers Polish Language Lessons for Imigrants ? I am an Imigrant here so if anyone have info about this Lessons please let me know, something tells me that the State here does not offer that becouse I dont see many Imigrants why no imigrants ???? if there is why no Free Lessons like other places ??? No money or no organization I guess

Zion, free lessons in the UK have now stopped - only children at school get help with English, everyone else has to pay...

There's certain Polish universities that will let you take Polish courses for free if you decide to go their university.

I seriously doubt it.

I didn't realize the offered Polish language lessons for free in Sweden, Germany and UK.

Why would they? They did however offer free English lessons to none English speaks when they came to the UK, but has, as I have already stated, stopped. It was too costly.

Neither did I. For the Poles in Holland I know there are certain cities who offer free Dutch lessons, though. But I don't know if they offer free Polish lessons.
This is actually part of an integration course which basically is volutarily, but strongly encouraged by the Dutch government. It's free for non-Dutch EU citizens. All others have to pay a small fee, I believe it was 50 Euros, give or take.

In general, I am against any kind of free language lessons for immigrants. The country accepts a person, allows a new start, offers new opportunities. Isn't that enough?

I think more likely that Holland and similar countries with a good level of social care will offer free lessons in their own countries to their own immigrants refering only to their own specific languages. I doubt very much if Holland would offer free Polish Language lessons for instance!

it's actually not charity: we had quite some difficulties (and still have!) with ppl coming to live in the Netherlands who did not want to integrate -such a Dutch tradition- at all or after being 30 years in our country, still not were able to speak a single word of Dutch. This lead to growing irritation and friction and the situation got so bad that the government decided to try and do something about it. For non-EU ppl who live longer than 5 years (or at least longer than a year, I thought it was) the course is mandatory. If you're not willing to participate, you will kindly be asked to leave. for fellow EU citizens it's fully voluntarily as they are supposed to have the same rights as a Dutchman. Unfortunately the attendency is very well below the expectations, so probably they will come up with a new set of rules. By the way, they will not only learn the Dutch language, also the Dutch history, customs, laws and so on. It's basically a package that will make you ready for the Dutch society, which is good, I think, as it can clear a lot of misunderstandings and the like.

Other countries are starting to feel those tensions too (Canada, GB). Its too bad language is such a barrier.

I think so too, it wouldn't make much sense to teach for example the Dutch Polish as this would be more out of interest than out of bare necessity. On the other hand, for Polish ppl wanting to live in a certain country, it is a bare necessity to learn the respective language - if it was only to be able to order a bread at a baker's...It will make life so much easier, in general.

u can find any nice DVD for learning polish language..i hav one and it really helped me to learn the basic language....

I can only confirm what Davey wrote. If you enroll at the university as a full time student, you can take part in their Polish course (if they run it). However, you have to remember foreigners have to pay to be a full time student a few thousand euros a year.. I haven't heard of free Polish classes for immigrants.

(I belive that if a country accepts someone as a legal immigrant, they should think of free native language courses for them, as a way of helping them adapt to society)
