Poland Rugby - Watch games in the UK

Poland played Croatia in a game yesterday, but I couldn't find it on Sky in the UK, and I've been googling away today trying to find the score. Does anyone know where I can watch games in the future? My boyfriend's Polish, and has only just started watching rugby so I thought we could support his national team as well as mine...

They're ranked 31 out of 95, so its not all bad. And I remember seeing the Frogs offering to play visiting teams, including stag parties, so perhaps it won't be long until they feature in the Rugby World Cup (they almost made it in this time - only missed out to Portugal)

Sorry Polson..missed this one:)

I'm afraid, I know nothing about rugby in Poland. Don't know if it is played professionally or semi-professional. I suppose if a country has an interest in the game, and have a good league system, they can only get better, and more people will want to play it.

It will help also if they bring in some coaches from "strong" rugby Countries. The Italians have come on a lot since they joined the six nations, and the Argentinians' have become strong too. I would like to see more teams join the "six nations" and Poland would be welcome, and just think going to those away matches too. :)

LoL the problem with rugby is that there are very strong countries (New-Zealand, South-Africa, Australia, France, Scotland, England, etc.), some that are middle strong and becoming strong like Italy and Argentina for example, and then, the other nations are much less good...not as in football. But i hope that rugby will develop enough to have a "10 Nations" or more, in the future...with Poland in it, sure :)

Hey Zuzi! Wonderful to see a fellow South African on the site! Last time we checked, Poland was 32nd on the rugby world ranks. Cricket still very foreign though.

Bokke did play a wonderful game - it wasn't in a row though. We won it last in 1995 - 12 years ago!

Say hi to Nelspruit

Would like to see that also. Now what's with these Southern hemisphere teams being so damn good.. Are we closing the gap on them?

Well, what can we say - if you're good, you're good ;-) Thanx for complement Vince!

Also remember that Poland hasn't played rugby for that long. Rugby is at least one of the main peanuts in the sports packets of the southern hemisphere - have been forever!

France beat NZ, that's good... :P And England beat Australia (if i remember well).......unfortunately, Argentina beat France in the match for the 3rd place, and South-Africa beat England.....there are (too) many good nations in Southern hemisphere, and not enough in Northern...Let's hope that countries such as Germany, Poland, Spain, etc. will develop it enough to compete against those Southern hemi nations...

We'll see who gets it. No country has won it two times in a row. Maybe SA will do it for the first time in WC history?

:)

Although they had some good follow up support from Mr. Wayne Barnes...

The great thing about teams growing and becoming stronger is that it makes things more competitive and interesting... I love to see my team win but there's no fun in a walkover - you like it to be a good, honest fight with spirit and skill on both sides. Cheering the cause of the underdog (the Tongans being my underdog favourites of RWC) is all good, but it would be better if they all had the opportunties to progress and be valid threats. Unfortunately the IRB funds the major unions and forgets about the small fry - damaging the potential growth of the game worldwide.
I'm hoping that they renegotiate the Tri Nations contracts for 2009 (or even 2008) to include Argentina.

As for Poland, their next games are against Latvia (28 April 2008) and Malta (10 May 2008) in the European cup - I'd love to be able to see them, but the Poland/Croatia game wasn't available on Sky in the UK, so no idea where I'd get to watch them.

Plus I'm making a wee prediction - 2029 the first All Black of Polish descent will take to the field...

You didn't miss a great game, Poland lost 15-14 (quite a surprise as they said...)
