re: Ahh, it's your right, we don't care about this, but remember one thing, our hatred will be more sizzling

- We'll see. Things change; who was powerful and bullying becomes weak and trampled over by his former victims. That's what's going to happen to you, inevitably, if you're not very careful and nice to those whom you have wronged.

By the way, we're not really afraid of you, Russkies. We know you'll get yours yet. It's started, actually.

Ha-ha-ha !!!! Stay in XIX cent my poor friend, we, russians are rise above the hate to poles or another nation. Hate is a fate of loosers.

He invaded Poland with the Bolshevik hordes in 1920.

To sat "hordes" you must realize that Poland never was on the height of civilisation. And IMHO, when some poles talk about "russians are barbarians", you just want to cover up your own holes...

ont be so self-centred, nobody in Russia even remember about this episode

Even state authorities do. I was in the Tver region in Nilova Pustyn monastery where orthodox Church hierarchs sponsored a memorial for polish officers exterminated by Stalin.

P.S. We are so lucky in Russia: we don't have to hate someone else - those like Costya attract all negative fluids. I'll be damned!

re: Dont be so self-centred

- What do you mean by 'self-centered'? You mean that your suffering is more important? If yes, well, your suffering is your own affair; it's you who inflicted it on yourselves during your 'revolution' and later. But the Katyn, among others, is what you inflicted on us. We're not you, you know?

Well, and as for us, we would gladly forget about Russia's existence. It is you, actually, who remind us about you, whenever we try to do something on our own. You seem to still think we are part of your 'country.' But it's over and all the stars seem to indicate that it's so for good.

Why don't you screw off from us and stay where and who you are? We don't need you and don't want to know anything about you. Why not otyebitsya? (I'm talking here about Russia and Russians, not about participation in this forum.)

Well thank you for your statement, Atilla. I don't want to go away from here thinking Russians are hate filled, miserable human beings. The ones that have I personally met are warm, kind people!

re: To sat "hordes" you must realize

- Thats how they have been called frequently in the English language. Would you accuse the English of lack of civilisation? And actually yes, Poles are very civlised people, in spite of our very negative image fabricated, among others, by you, Russkies, abroad.

No! We cant !!! We are your neighbours, so you are obliged to reckon with us ! Yes, you have an independent state, but remember the fact that it was russia which reesteblished Polish state in 1945 !!!

- I suspect we feel something similar towards you - but without the desire to rule you, ever. I think we would feel more comfortable with you than with the Germans (although I wish we were on better terms with them - don't know if it'll ever happen).

Sorry I thought I'd deleated the first quote, that came out all wrong, in a hurry to get to work and avoid the rain *failed miserably drip*

I meant Schopenhauer was a butthead. But there's soem group therapy in the book where a lot of anger and hatred gets spewed up, but people manage to resolve stuff in the process

How many divisions you kept in East Germany, on the West German border?

Come on, Kostia, be honest about it.

re: hate is a fate of losers

- Only if it does one harm, that is, when it is not let go eventually.

Well, and human affairs show that Fate works in such a way that losers become winners, often without any effort on their part.

That's what the great Leo Tolstoy mentions somewhere, doesn't he?
:)
By the way, the Russians are incomparably less prejudiced towards us than the Germans. The Russians don't consider us inferior to them. That's something.

To hate Americans? Damn, no !!! We have a different education system than in the US...I was taught to hate an American imperialism not Americans. As to Poles, I remember that our history books drummed into our heads that Tadeush Kostusko was a hero not only for Poles but even for Russians and that Polish uprisings in XIX was a good acts... ravings of a madman...

You know, that's just not how it feels when I'm talking with you. Especially if the conversation is taking place in the US Missle Base thread! I think you'd be happier if the US (AND ALL THE PPL IN IT) was just wiped off the map. But I don't feel that way about Russia!

- You mean Soviet history books depicted it so? Yes the Soviets depicted the tsars and tsarism (which they had overthrown) as oppressive to many nations. It was actually true, but did not prevent the Soviets from oppressing peoples even worse than the tsar had done. From the Soviet viewpoint, the Kosciuszko uprising aganst the Russian occupiers was good for both Poles and Russians. But from your viewpoint its 'ravings of a madman?'

In your misfortunes, you must blame only you or exactly your ancestors. They lose the State only thanks to their swagger and lack of foresight! Not Russians but your own unruly gentry were true killers of independence.

- Yep, our 'unruly gentry' partitioned Poland together with the Germans n the late 1700s and kept us off the map until 1918. :)

Is it what they taught you in your Soviet schools too?

So, Russians were forced to interfere in Polish affairs to prevent consequences of polish giddiness. We never want your lands or your poor peasants, but we never want to face with the fact that this " treasures" will be in the hands of Germans
