Can you imagine millions of Ethiopians in 1986 dying from hunger under communism?Perestroika would have collapsed.
As soon as I got off the bus after returning to the UK from Poland, I felt as though I had entered a far more oppressive, unwelcoming, miserable country. Especially as the smoking ban had just come in. I sat outside the station, lit a cigarette, got told to move a couple more metres from the building. I just typed a lot more that I have self-edited for sanity's sake.
Certainly more miserable if you're a smoker. Too bad for you and your lungs.Certainly more miserable if you're a smoker. Too bad for you and your lungs.

Poland is not a third world country. Ethiopia? are you kidding me? Poland has plenty of food and do not have to split a piece of rice for dinner like ethiopia.

Africa will never amount to anything. The place hadn't even been introduced to the wheel until the 1800's. There is a reason for this. The average IQ of a full blooded negro is 70. No joke. That is well into the retard-zone for a White.

I hope this doesn't sound racist, because I'm stating facts that have been collected from the scientific community. I'll freely admit that similar studies have shown that the average IQ for northern Asians is higher than that of Whites.

A few Ethiopian jokes before I continue.

Why did Poland send Venecian blinds to Ethiopia?

A: They needed bunk-beds.

Q: Why did Poland send drinking straws to Ethiopia?

how nice to see such an educated individual on here!

Anyway, this is a Polish Forum, not an Ethiopian one, so I will curb my comments and just feel silently sorry for anyone so ignorant as the above.

Oh really? Then why aren't we spared these charities to feed starving ethiopians? There must be thousands of these ads and organizations running.

Why you are correct! Only south africa ever amounted to anything. So in a sense Vangaurd is wrong. But at the same time he is 100% right on the money when talking about the rest of africa. It is always expected that liberals will ignore the facts and just blab on about how such things are ignorant to say or politically incorrect.

Heh. As a former economics student, I can say that Poland is definitely *not* a third world country. Not by a long shot. :p

I can imagine that some people might be ignorant about the economics of Eastern Europe, since we don't hear much about it here, and when we do, it's usually something silly like Borat or the Czech brothers on Saturday Night Live - wild and crazy, but poor. Heh.

There are a couple of industries here in Poland that could possibly rival those in America. I have in mind telecommunications esp, Poland has some great companies that could be described as cutting-edge. Yeah, there is some poverty here but there is in Scotland also and Scotland has some of the best industries in the world, e.g tourism, farming, oil/gas etc etc. Poland is not a third world country although it still lags behind France, Germany and the UK in certain areas. Give it time tho

most of the private telecommunications industries in poland are american and british owned

most complex technological industries in poland are outsourced from american and british owned companies and polands economy has been oncreasing because of the amount of money that german, britian, spain, france, italy etc pump into poland

That makes Poland a 3rd world country ? Idiot...

The USA own the biggest companies in the world, there are still a lot of poor people living there.

One has to be kind of stupid to say Poland is a 3rd world country...

(sorry for the bad language, i'm not in a good mood tonight)

Most businesses in Nort America use those for their employees. Many households use them too. Alternatively, they use water filtering/purification systems. Hardly a sign of a 3rd World Country.

Well what is it? Nearly 1 million Poles between the ages of 18-40 have left the country to find work. A great nation does not lose it's most vibrant people if something is not right. You get Polish intellectuals working in England for peanuts, what does that say about the Polish economy?

well obviously if it isn't as good as uk's then it must be 3rd world right? the reasoning people use to justify their opinions is truly pathetic at times.

No,I dont,if you live in Warsaw, admit it,lots of families use only bottled water to drink and cook with as the water supply is tainted.

poland will always be lagging behind developed countries unless its young people stop treating poland like a used prostitute. They f*ck it then leave it behind in search for something better.

Whether Poland is currently a TW country or not is of no big deal since it is highly probable that Poland will have the same GDP per capita as the rest of EU in the next 20 years.

Meanwhile, this Polish generation can always fall back to their cultural heritage for the steadying of confidence, the heritage which I believe unrivalled by that of many so-called First world countries.

Anyway, I just want to say this topic is total trolling.
