a win in Serbia would be a good finish :)

is this match going ahead as planned on Wednesday ? Serbia's game last night was postponed due to severe snow conditions and should have been played today around 1pm.

Serbia's UEFA EURO 2008™ qualifier against Kazakhstan has been postponed until 24 November due to heavy snow at Belgrade's Partizan Stadium.

I suppose this means that Serbia v Polska can go ahead as planned ..... assuming the weather improves !!

Yep, the game against Kazakhstan will be played next Saturday, so there is no problem for the Wednesday match ;)

I wonder if Leo will field his strongest team against Serbia or will he give a chance to some of the fringe players ..... Fabianski, Brozek, Rasiak, etc.

Does finishing 1st or 2nd in the group have any bearing on how the teams will be seeded in EURO 2008 ?

Not directly but the number of points from I think last 2 qualifications will decide in which basket a team will be.

No, 1st or 2nd is the same, what matters is the qualification, that's all ;)

Nope, many players won't go to Serbia, so we will see other players on the field ;)

Not sure. There normally is some kind of seeding. Alas everyone will start of with a clean sheet, and to win it, a team will have to meet other seeded teams, somewhere before the semis.

Just got back to the site after being absent for a few days, due to a death in the family. It's great to hear the awesome news - reading this thread got me as anxious as some of you professed to be on the day of the game.
Go Polska!!

Poland games always make me nervous - having said that I think I'll be able to relax tomorrow night when we play Serbia ! :o)

Even though we'll be fielding some fringe players, i'm hoping for a win and a good performance.

I appreciate the condolences - thank you very much. My wife's younger brother died last Thursday due to complications from diabetes. He was nine days younger than me, but before he died he looked to be 30 years older. If any of you have diabetes, PLEASE do all that you can to take care of yourselves properly. This guy did just the opposite - he didn't eat properly, didn't see doctors regularly, continued to smoke and drink LOTS of diet soda. We weren't surprised when we got the call telling us he'd died - only 6 weeks shy of his 50th birthday. The saddest part is that he left a 13-year-old son, of whom he had sole custody. Now the poor kid has to go back to his mother. We'll be watching out for him, though.
Thanks again, and take care.

Have they only just started or is there something about that fine, fresh Pyrenean air?

Already we are seeing the impact of the theft of the disks containing the personal details of 25 million British citizens. The first confirmed cases of identity theft have been seen tonight at Wembley where 11 people are impersonating footballers.

Unrelated to football, I know, but...

I'm sorry. It is horrible to see someone change from looking young to looking old so quickly, and then to lose them. I work with someone who, if he doesn't have diabetes now, he certainly will. He refuses to change his diet of cakes, chocolate, fizzy drink and so on. Some people will never learn.

Back to the football...

Have England lost yet? And how are Andorra getting on?

Does anyone else insert an extra syllable into the name of their country for sporting purposes?
