Do people in Poland celebrate Valentines day (14th Feb) the same as the British do?

Valentines day was "imported" to Poland in the early '90-ies.
In polnish it's called "Walentynki" and it's quite popular within the young people.

My girlfriend is from Poland, and she give no consideration for Valentine's day at all, says she can't stand it because of commercialism etc etc.

Of course, she could just be really unromantic :-)
