Hello all, my name is Jonathan Holmes and i am currently a final year Geography student at the University of Hertfordshire. I am currently conducting research into how Polish people socialise and use social space in Hatfield and Luton and was wondering if anyone on here would be interested in participating in my research? If so it would be much appreciated. The research process is outlined below.

Best wishes
Jon

Do you live in the Hatfield (Hertfordshire) and Luton (Bedfordshire) area?

Are you a Polish adult that has moved to either of the above areas since the 2004 enlargement of the European Union?

If so, might you be interested in taking part in an undergraduate research dissertation aimed at investigating how Poles use social areas and places in Hatfield and Luton?

Your part in the research would involve you being interviewed for approximately 20 minutes in a public location acceptable to you in Hatfield or Luton. You will be asked questions on which locations you use to socialise and for leisure, and what motivates you to use those particular locations. Simple as that really!

If you were to take part all information you provide will be treated in the strictest confidence and in accordance with the Data Protection Act (1998).

If you are interested in taking part and would like more information please contact me:

There are lots of Poles in the Luton area because of the cheap flights that come in from Poland to Luton Airport.

There's at the very least one Pole in another nearby town. I'm not saying which one though. I suspect there are more - the Polish foods section in the local Costcutter has at least one other customer.

Hatfield is not a great place.
Luton is better, but still grim. They don't make straw hats there any more.
Hatfield has nothing to do with hats.

Not on screen, but at home it raised a chuckle.

This Jonathan chap's best bet is to check out some St. Albans pubs. Any sensible Polish person living in Hatfield will spend their social time there. There is very little to do in Hatfield.

Hi Guys! Thanks for your input on my research and your helpfull comments. It's a shame that it seems no-one on here is from Hatfield or Luton :(.

I will try and translate the advert into Polish as Ronek suggested.

Thanks again guys and if any of you meet a Polish person living in Hatfield or Luton please let them know about my study!

We have a relative who lives in Luton and I have been there to visit her. She speak Polish in the sense that her mother and father were both from Poland during the wear but contact with Poland is now at an end. She has never been to Poland and has no intention of ever going there.

How is hearing something like doing something?

Finding cockroaches is something you've gotten used to is it?

He must be having a bad acid trip.
He should try lying down in a darkened room until the voices go away.

extra extra read all about it:
Noimagination, you're not even in Hatifeld or Luton, so what's it got to do with you?
