Poles like Czech and French (don't ask me why), don't like Chinese and Jews, hate Muslims.

No...that they "like" those countires/peoples with certain attributes/ qualites......after all how many polish people would have travelled to France to say they like the French or is just an historical thing...?

Secondly.....how many Polish people know any Muslims to hate them......if you don't know anyone of that faith, how can you hate them....

I agree with Frank. Liking French people doesn't reflect well on polish people at all.

Grzegorz, why did you change your avatar? Not that I don't like the Polish flag, but you stuck out more with your wolf avatar.

Poles towards the English:

50% ppl feel sympathy
27% neutral
16% dislike

I looked it up in the public surveys website (CBOS). Americans, French, Italians, English and Hungarians are the top five with highest average score.

That would be sympathy as in empathy and not pity - right? (I hope so!!!)

And the Scottish ?

I like them - one of my best friends is Scottish.
Anyways. Isn't that true that forum such as this one is suppose to break the ice between nationalities and in a course of time, people will understand each other better, as a result they actually might like eah other.
I always base my opinions on personal experiances and I never judge anybody based on their nationality. Why would I and why would anybody?
People are scared of other nationalities simply because they don't understand their history and their culture. What surprises me is the fact the even though EU had been around for a while, there are a lot of unfriendly opinions about each other. It takes time, effort and willingness not to judge.
If you like yoursef, you like other people.

Come on Miranda, we are all prejudiced more or less. The trick is to overcome them when meeting a person of different nationality.
I think these surveys are interesting, it also tells something about culture, both good and bad.

BTW: I won't have anymore swedish culture even if they force it down my throat.

Hmmm...still wondering what's causing the luv between Magyars and Polish...

Well, they have been in wars with pretty much anyone neighboring them. For example Slovaks, Romanians and Serbs don't like them.
And their language is so weird !

we are all people and only receantly we started to see the differances and use the magnifying glass to look at each other. I might sound like an utopian, but the truth is that there is less differances between people that we like to think, as well as between men and women, although I wouldn't want to get into some feministic discussion here. I am very far from that

Their attitude to Finns is very bad, they are so anti-rascist when they are with anyone else but us. With the "Finnjävlar" it is totally different. Maybe they didn't notice but we are not their Ostmark anymore. They like to call us Nazi's because we collaborated with Germans in WW II and tend to "forget" that they sold Iron Ore to Germany and let their troops go through. That's their typical "holier-than-thou"-attitude. The collabarition of Finland wasn't our finest hour but I can't stand some Börje or Svantte bringing it up while forgetting their own pre-Nazi Svekoman ideals that were used to oppress Finns. I would stand it if a Pole brought that up though but Polish are polite people who really understand & emphatize us so they don't do it

And they are horrible socialists...

Yes we are all equal and basically the " same" but there are sadly the one's who seek to exploit and oppress the others.

Hmm.. So I am a French woman married to a British man (Welsh to be precise ) and we have two adopted Chinese little girls. We are planning to go to Poland for 3 weeks in the summer. Are we to expect some hostility? I am posting this in good faith, I need to know as my little girls are 4 and 2 and I could not bear any kind of prejudice. Thanks. Lydie

lydie... we both know that prejudice can rear its ugly head anywhere anytime... but i really would hate to think that it would be a problem for you and your young kids...

... dont worry about it and have a great holiday...
