Yep. I don`t know anyone here (Poland) who would use papertowels in their home. However you can see papertowels in all public institutions, schools, universities, offices ect.

Ola, it was just an EXAMPLE! I just cannot stand when people waste so much stuff - just because they are lazy or they don't care (see some posts here on this forum).

Good points, Nita. I was in Poland and people don't care about the environment as much as Americans do.

Maybe but they care more about their bodies so they are slimmer and eat more of fresh food than in USA....

I think that this environmental thing is fashion and law. I wouldn't say that everyone in UK is so environmental friendly but there is law, lots bins in differenr colours.....people get used to it.

It will also change in Poland soon.

You've got to be joking. I think it's quite the opposite. We're one of the largest contributers to destroying the environment. Yes, we have a lot of activist groups, but unfortunately not everyone cares.

Nita, the one thing we all should learn as we grow up is common sense.
something you are lacking at the moment which tells your age.

I do hope you stop the childish antics soon, because Karma always finds itself.

if you are older, well, that goes without saying, dont come in here acting like you are
American and pretending you are and playing games.
we all know there is still children trying to get on the intranet, it is unfortunate that
you found your mommys password .

Nita, I have never seen Poles use paper towels, rather ordinary kitchen towels.

Don't assume that just because one family does it, the rest of the country does it too.

As regards plastic bottles recycling I am all for that but the truth unless you give people some sort of incentive they won't do it - regardless of nationality.

In the UK they had to cut down on bin collections, they now empty bins once a fortnight instead of weekly - and have provided red bins for plastics etc.

I am not sure what it is like in the US - I have never been.

But Americans seem to have a big fast food culture - much more so than in Poland.

big fast food culture

Yes, but not as many people are eating it nowadays. Especially after movies like Super Size me. Disgusting. I hope Poland never gets this bad. We get most of out profits from Asia. Fast food is HUGE there.

Yes agreed, home cooked meals are better /We had to change our diets to work
with my youngest diet Low fat, because she has to have it, we do it also.

I cant even drink whole milk anymore, because its to thick (fat content)
and I saw on it was either oprah, or one of the talk shows, where this guy
measured the amount of fat using butter sticks with the amount of fat you drink
from whole milk and the sticks of butter were piled up from the ground to the height
of the guy explaining this. scarey.

Well, it was a reality check, as I can say, yes, I am guilty of loving Mcdonalds, now it
make me ill, Now they have some healthier choices, Grilled chicken salad, I am sure
there is "fat content" in it, but the choice of Chicken salad Vs a large big mac with
the cheese, dressing and all that fried garbage on it.

MY daughter has Metabolic Disorder, so she cant metabolize fats period.
she lives off carbs.
she also has hypoglycemia during viral infections and it can present itself during
normal activity as well.

our changing was for the better. even though I grew up with home cooked meals that
had more fat content in them. that was still much better then fast food.

Now when I shop, it takes me quite a few hours, as I check labels.
dont want to overload on the salt either. Blood pressure

For me...I can eat anything as long as it's in moderation. I excersize everyday..eat butter drink whole milk etc. people have been living on these fattening things for years why stop now? I do keep clear of the fast food, but might eat things that are just as fattening.

Not saying that everyone would need to change, we did for our daughter.

her life was more important. she almost died at age 1 year.

I brought her into the hospital comatose, and with a sugar of 8
that is non-existant. we were sent to another hospital which deals with
larger issues that are more critical. and they discovered her liver was marbleized
and the enzymes were in the thousands. she was not eating huge amounts
of regular food, she was on baby food. and I would mash reg potato's.

But, the formula contained carnitine which is essential in breaking down fats and
carrying toxins thru the liver.

so when I switched to Milk (whole) which was only six days after the formula, she
became ill with a viral infection,,and the underlying played significant role ,hand in
hand so to speak with the obvious.

for a while they could only treat the obvious, because not enough was known
about the underlying. it was very frustrating.

I decided (prior to) a real Dx that she needed vitamins daily (told this would not stop
it) and also when in crisis to go strictly to low fats.
or no fats.

four years later , they decided to give me this vital information. one which I
had already honed in on from age 2. as we had to many hospital stays for it
to keep happening.

and as her mother and advocate, i had to learn my and know my Sh_t in order to
keep her healthy and alive as many children who have this do not make it.
her Dx is # 15 in the world that is how rare. not many children are dx at birth.
and it mimicks Sids.
