Following Poland's entry into the European Union in May 2004, Poles gained the right to work in some other EU countries. While France and Germany put in place controls to curb Eastern European migration, the United Kingdom (along with Sweden and the Republic of Ireland) did not impose restrictions. Many young Poles have come to work in UK since then. Estimates vary between 300,000 and 800,000 moving to the UK since May 2004.
Estimates for the total number of people living in the UK and born in Poland, or of Polish descent, vary from around 500,000[3] to 1,000,000. Other than London, Poles have settled in Bolton, Bury and Chorley in Lancashire, and there are also concentrations in Nottingham, South Yorkshire, South Wales, Rugby, Banbury, Slough and Swindon.[citation needed]
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polonia And this is only estimated, i used to work as an agency Chef in 2002 and every single cleaner in every kitchen I worked was Polish all illegal immigrants. Where i lived in Southampton the estimation was 1 / 10 people are Polish and almost 80% of them were not regisatered and did not have a bank account. They are bloody everywhere.
I think we really need to look at the figures here, never in the UK's history have we had such a massive influx of immigrants. The Uk being a samll over populated country as it is needs to consider the long term effects of opening the borders to Poles and other new EU entrants. In Poland Romanians are considered the lowets of the low scum bags and beggars. We do not have such a low opinion of the Poles even though you are testing our economy to bursting point.
Lets get one thing straight I dont dislike Poles or poland I just dont really like living here having lived in the UK.
