Age means nothing to those who have the maturity and self confidence regardless of what situation life delivers upon you. Just don't feel old ,It is better to always feel young. and that comes from within no matter what level you are at in maturity.

I have been to Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Czech, i'm going to Italy after Easter. I'm not very keen on architecture. Why are you asking?

I asked because I can tell by your writing that you seem to be someone who would like to experience the world as much as possible. Your part of the world is where all the great architecture is. We from the US wish to visit it. Those in Europe are used to it. I my self would be very interested in it. Of course I have an engineering degree that has groomed me for such. What degree of study are you considering?

Stay focused on your goals and you will. Now I know why architecture does not thrill you. finance requires a different way of thinking. More exact. Architecture allows for imperfection and an arrangement of it . ALthough both are number orientated. TRy a good corporate Co-Op plan . It can help you greatly in achievement.

Re the antiques and furneture especially. Sometimes I got the impresion it was rather impolite to ask the provinence of such things. Unlike say in the States or GB these often hadnt been handed down for generations but ,how to put it,been appropriated at the end of the last war. Thats not casting judgement but rather a reflection on conditions in post war europe.
A word of caution for Carol re the Ukrainine "100 year old" Ikons. Well,you may have been extremly lucky and found the genuine thing,but,I rather imagine those 100 years were closer to a 100 days Im afraid.

I took art classes in college and still have no talent for the draw. Though I have personally designed many buildings and it was all done on computer. And they are built , but nothing very special.
THis place would be worth while too. The problem today is the reproductive fake.

The ukranian fake is famous in the military colectables field :) Basicaly,the Soviets put so much raw materials into storage that now people are using origional tools and materials to reproduce many varied items.
A quick question though. Can anyone tell me why Polish antique markets always seem to have hundreds of Accordians and Wigs?

Does anyone collect old Polish notes? I have some from 1929-1931-1934-1936 and Russian 1938 German 1937
