(I hope this is in the right forum)
I'm entering college fall 2008 and I'm considering going to poland.
Would a degree from a uni in poland be worth anything in the US? or should I get my degree in the US first, then go to poland to do extra studies

Yes your Polish degree would be valid in the US. As long as its an accedited and recognized institution. Poland has some very good colleges in it - some of which give a better education then some schools in the US. Where I work in the US we have people who got their degree from all different countries - India, China, Russia, Italy, the UK and more.

So if you want to study in Poland then go and have fun. If you have trouble getting a job afterwards then its jsut because the job market in the US can be tough - depending on your field of interest

What about the Politechnika Gdańska (Technical University of Gdasnk)? If I were to get a degree there, would that be good in the USA?

yes.. polish degree is fine.. what do you want to study? possibly the easiest way would be to do an overseas study for year or two from a US university but you surely don't have to go that route.

that's not necessarily true at all. the only thing is if one wants to be licensed here in the US then one has to take the exam otherwise it's good to go. You may also ask your state board of licensure and see if a degree from Gdansk Tech would qualify you to sit in on the Architect's licensing test. let us know what you find out.

I may be wrong here but I dont think that the two names are interchangeable. I know that some Polish people take offence at Gdansk being called Danzig.
Any thoughts welcome.

( Might be better in another thread )

Of course, but like Irisheyz says, it would all depend on the job market. A degree is a degree :) sometime a little experience in the field also helps.

It's not wrong...if you're a German and believe it's still yours.
