hi I am new here I posted on the newbie page too. I am in Chicago and am trying to learn about my heritage. I only know a handful of words from my late old babcia. So what are some of the good bakeries I should really hit? I really do miss some of her foods I had as a kid. One was stuffed cabbage with meat? I don't know what it is called.
Please tell me more about this taste of Polonia too. I have been reading on here for hours and see that there are some fellow Chicagoans too!

We all had a great time! Krysia, her hubby and mom, Ranj, Sledz, moi, and my friend Marysia. We had plenty of beer, food and music. The food was really good. Later in the evening it was pretty packed and we kept loosing each other...:)
The cell phones were getting worked out, as we tried to locate our positions. It was hard to hear yourself thinking, never mind hearing each other on the phone - because of the loud music!

I'm afraid, that not too many people noticed us...lots of people wore some kind of t-shirts and hats with polish motifs, we just blended in.

i'll have to go next time, and try and talk my brother into going too, so we can be the tattooed Polish twins :D my brother plays drums, i play bass...we could even do some jamming! :D


i could never talk him into doing anything like that. he hates being a twin.
