Bratwurst Boy:
I don't understand you Lukasz...do you want to say that we promote membership for them? There is a difference between good relationship and an actual membership!Just watch Turkey....good relationship but they can scream till they get blue in the face but will never become members...

we promote them because we have the right to do so some countries support our idea some not, maybe one day we are going to achieve majority.

Bratwurst Boy:
Not if you use the EU to bring unrest and tension and intrigues in another wise well working body! Other than that you can do as you like....ah the old polish fear of an overpowering Germany...but learn to live with that, we can't and won't make us more smaller just to be more likeable!

I think you don't understand Poland ... lets present it in this way. 85% of Polish people want closer integration. The fact is that for today Germany are the strongest memeber of EU and main power. Still Polish people want to intgrate on political level.

Bratwurst Boy:
What? What do you want to say?

Read EU constitution ... and be quiet to referendum in Ireland.

European constitution is created in way that biger countries will be much stronger than they are now (in EU). Poland wanted to change it, unfortunately couldn't. Instead of that 6 countries (not 5) are mentioned in EU constitution. Especialy when it comes to seats in important EU offices/tribunals of justice/... .

So...you would find it fair if...say....Liechtenstein could overrule Poland even if Poland has much more people? Somehow I find it hard to believe that...:)

So "WE" is a party or what? What do they stand for?

Of course not. I feel that result of this negotiations could be better. We were fighting alone and we achieved something other small and middle size countries were "good europeans" and achieved nothing. Lets leave it ... (read EU constitution)

Firstly we want Ukraine in EU free trade zone (without membership in EU, old memebrs don't have to pay EU cash for them or open laubor market for them) . We have French and British support. On next EU summit there will be offical Polish proposal in this case. So wait for offical informations.

actually all people in turkey know that we will never be able to join eu. but we try cause, imagine, why an apartment in istanbul can cost a big money but not in tehran. because turkey is closer to global economy more than iran. and as long as we'll be in relations with west, our commerce will be better. which bazaar has richer people you sell your stuff there, simple commerce rule. even if we don't get in eu it's better to be in close relationships instead of getting away, cause you guys have the money. and here people are not in love about being "european" as you think.

I was actually stunt when while working for a French company I visited my boss'es father and when introduced he replied to me:"...aaa a Pole, the only friend France has...". They seem to remember about Napoleon's glory and its Polish path, over all I've spent there several months and in my opinion it is safer to admit that you're Polish than American...

We have member form Nancy so :

Stanisław [fr: Stanislas] Leszczysnki

Stanisław I Leszczyński (October 20, 1677 – February 23, 1766) was King of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, Duke of Lorraine (as to Polish - French history) and count of the empire

Stanisław accompanied Krassau's army corps in its retreat to Swedish Pomerania. On the restoration of August, Stanisław resigned the Polish Crown (though he retained the royal title) in exchange for the little principality of Zweibrücken. In 1716, an assassination was attempted by a Saxon officer, Lacroix, but Stanisław was saved by Stanisław Poniatowski, father of the future king. Leszczyński then resided at Wissembourg in Alsace 1725 had the satisfaction of seeing his daughter Maria become the consort of Louis XV and queen of France. From 1725 to 1733, Stanisław lived at Chateau Chambord.

His son-in-law Louis XV supported his claims to the Polish throne after the death of August II the Strong in 1733, which led to the War of the Polish Succession. In September 1733, Stanisław himself arrived at Warsaw, having traveled night and day through central Europe disguised as a coachman

The siege began in October 1734. On March 17, 1735, Marshal Münnich superseded Peter Lacy, and on May 20 the long-expected French fleet appeared and disembarked 2,400 men on Westerplatte. A week later, this little army gallantly attempted to force the Russian entrenchments, but was finally compelled to surrender. This was the first time that France and Russia had met as foes in the field

as to Nancy in France :

Place Stanislas in Nancy was constructed between 1751 and 1755

Église Saint-Jacques in Lunéville was established by him in 1745.

France had only one foreigner as Marshal of France.

Józef Antoni Poniatowski

marsh

Imperial coat of arms of marshal of the First French Empire prince Józef Poniatowski with Légion d'honneur, Order of the White Eagle, Virtuti Militari insignia

And we had French Marshal in Poland.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ferdinand_Foch

Ferdinand Foch OM GCB (October 2, 1851 – March 20, 1929) was a French soldier, military theorist, and writer credited with possessing "the most original and subtle mind in the French Army" in the early 20th century.[1] He served as general in the French Army during World War I and was made Marshal of France in its final year, 1918. Shortly after the start of the Spring Offensive, Germany's final attempt to win the war, Foch was chosen as supreme commander of the allied armies, a position that he held until November 11, 1918, when he accepted the German Surrender.

as to Polish-French realtionship.

Foch was made a British Field Marshal in 1919, and, for his advice during the Polish-Bolshevik War of 1920, as well as his pressure on Germany during the Great Poland Uprising, he was awarded with the title of Marshal of Poland in 1923.

http://www.interfax.com/5/386229/news.aspx

Italy-based financial group
Carlo Tassara, controlled by French industrialist family Zaleski won
the approval of Poland's Financial Supervision Authority (KNF) to build
a new universal bank from scratch, the group said in a statement Friday.
"The new bank will operate using the brand Alior Bank," the group said.
The bank aims at 2-4% market share within three years and hopes to
attract up to one million customers. Eventually the bank wants to run
200 own outlets and cooperate with more than 400 affiliated outlets.
The bank will initially have 800 employees and plans to boost headcount
to 1,000 at end-2008 and 3,500 within three years.

So French people with Polish origin decided to invest in Poland. What can be interestig Zaleski has 5th place on the list of the richest people in France.

Nice article about Zaleski:

http://www.businessweek.com/magazine/content/01_25/b3737148.htm

French-born financier Romain Zaleski never lacked pluck. During World War II, when his family was trapped in Warsaw following a visit to relatives, an 11-year-old Zaleski delivered strategic papers to Polish resistance leaders, carrying out the hushed instructions of his mother as she was arrested before his eyes by the Gestapo in 1944. Divided and surviving epic adversity, the family was reunited after the war in Paris. Half a century later, Zaleski is on the front lines in a different kind of battle. By challenging Milanese merchant bank Mediobanca for control over $12.2 billion conglomerate Montedison, Zaleski has become a catalyst in what many believe is the final unraveling of old-style Italian capitalism.

it is form 2001, it seems that now his money are going to be invested in proper place Poland.
