Polish Girl and American Guy?

Eric,

I know I'm probably a little late with this, but I'm gonna give you my 2 cents: I myself was born in Poland, but came here at an early age (7 - I'm 27 now). Most of my friends were Americans and the schools/jobs I was at had white/spanish/black people (you get the point). So for me to date a Polish girl, was just like you dating one. Sure I can speak the language - but they were still fairly a "new concept" to me. My first Polish girlfriend was great, and we lasted 5 years. In the end it didn't work out but......moral of the story is: Woman are woman and men are men. There are good and bad ones out there. In your situation you would have a lot of obstacles to conquer together (key word being TOGETHER). If you really like this girl, then give it a shot. It might become something special, and then you will know that the juice was worth the squeeze

juice worth the squeeze. girl next door right on

Im with darek on it. Girls are Girls, Boys are Boys, regardless of where you live / grow up

I wouldn't see the language barrier as any bigger a problem in an intimate relationship than if you were simply making friends with someone of another language.

If you both want it you'll make it work =)

Thank you guys I appreciate all the reassurance. I really do think we can have something special. I don't think the language thing will be a problem, because she can understand my english when I speak slow enough and I study polish every day when I get home from work for her. Ona jest moja slodka polska ksiezna Darek1980....you are right, we do have alot to overcome, and it will be worth it in the end because she is the most special thing that has ever happened to me. Sapphire....I would very much like to hear about your experiences. Thanks guys, and again, if anyone has had any experiences in this type of relationship, I would love to hear.

OK ..well my man spoke hardly any English when I met him and I didnt know a word of Polish.. despite that pretty big barrier we moved in together 6 months later and we have now been together for 2 yrs. Hie English has improved and I know a bit of Polish, but I have to admit that it hasnt been easy at times, not only because of the language, but the cultural differences are huge and at times we have come close to splitting because of this.. however, we love each other (most of the time). I think Polish guys are different to Polish girls (which is obviously not a bad thing)..anyway, I wish you luck with your relationship and feel free to contact me any time.
