I wonder what rock this guy crawled from under. The last time I went to Poland I was actually inconspicuously pointing my camcorder at the beautiful women walking by. I wanted to show them off to my American friends...And, it was not even Warsaw or Krakow.
I'd have to go to the Magnificent mile in Chicago or Madison St in NY to see something similar!

Of course, there were some "ducklings" but they are everywhere. I would not judge all polish beauties based on that.

I could as well take a picture of some old, falling apart barn and show it to the world that that's how houses look in Poland...Didn't the "West" do it in the past?
Maybe still does...and this Danny still belong to that world.

To the original question.

It depends what time of year you come to Poland and if you are judging women in their out-door clothing. In the depths of winter we are all wrapped up. So it is difficult for anyone, of either sex, to look their absolute best.
The exceptions would be the New Year's Eve Ball and the High School Ball [Studniowka]
This is when either sex shine.
In Summer Polish people only have to look out the window to get a tan. And that always makes people look good. Coupled with the latest fashion I can see no reason for complaint about Polish women.
The facts here are not much different to those in any other country. It must be me....I just don't see ugly people anywhere.

Thank you all for answering. It was verry funny. I have a new one for you:

Everyone said that polish girls are beautiful. so why do they have to hide their faces under so much make up?
again I do not believe that if you aren't natural, you become beautiful. Dyed hair, painted(and yes, I mean painted) face. Is this beauty for you?

So basically you mean that I shouldn't see the old barn(I am using you metaphor) Ishould look at the new, beautiful houses. Will this make me see Poland for what it really is?

And neglecting the new beautiful houses while focusing on the old barns is a more right thing to do?

"not sure about this whole camouflage thang thats going on."

It might have something to do with National Service

C'mon guys.. dont wish to be rude, but Poland is hardly Milan! The men wear baseball caps and trackie trousers and the women wear hideous make up, strange shoes and tight white clothes...or perhaps I am generalising here?? Of course Ive never actually been to Poland, but have seen enough of them over here (Uk) to make me not want to go clothes shopping there.

well I'll have to take your word on it.... maybe the shops are good, but many people are lacking in sense of style then?? I am generalising here.. and I know that there are stylish Polish people, but not many of them here in the UK. My bfs mate take the p*** as they say he dresses like an English guy now.. but hes bardzo happy with that as he doesnt want to be seen to be typically Polish and reckons they are jealous.

Could it be that you tend not to notice them because, in contrary to these that lack at style, the sharp looking ones don't stand out from the crowd?

PS: His English was crap, he dressed awfully, and you still decided to give him a chance? Maybe it’s really true that Polish men are special.

Desperate Dan, you caused offense especially since many people here have Polish wives and girlfriends and family and some actually Polish.

If I went to an ex-pat site and spoke rubbish about Italian women I would received the same reaction as you. Your experience of Polski women is clearly limited and already predjudiced. Not a clever way to endear yourself with regular posters.

We (those who aren't trolls), have to constantly put up with a barage of constant anti-polish claptrap. It becomes boring and exceedingly irritating.

If people point out the negative aspects of Poland, fair enough they are topics of discussion worth exploring. However, if they are merely generalized negative comments aimed towards Poland then that is when people get abused.

As for racist. Surely stating that Polish women are dyed haired, cake make up (slappers, which is the unconcious statement), then that is RACIST.

Having said that I dislike the constant use of racist because it is a catch all word that serves little purpose, since most people done even understand exact what Racsim even is.

Dan if you are Italian, you have disappointed me I have many Italian friends here in London (mainmly from Naples) and they are excellent people.

As for shopping and fashion.
Okay when we go shopping we head to Tri-city. Here are some retailers we go to
Klif-shopping center near Sopot has, Maxmara, Vera Monda, Benetton, Camel.
Gydnia do not know the labels I am able to buy Hugo Boss, Calvin Kleine, Levi's, Wrangler, Pierre Cadin, Diesel and more.

HOWEVER. This is the important bit. These clothes are VERY expensive for the average man or woman. So people have to shop at other less expensive shops. They also spend money on 'fake' gear.

So the average person may look less fashionable to the fashion concious dewellers of Urban Europe; however they have different priorities.

I'm sure Warsaw has many high end labled shops, but those that can afford this are generally in the minority.

Regarding the make up thing. Well in my experience, those groups that tend to ver do the make up are either young girls or Grandma's and prostitues. So Dan if you've been looking specifically at young girls or grandmothers or prositutes then perhaps they where too much make up.

Another thing last time I checked make up, was proportionately very expensive and given (huge generalization coming here) that Polish women have a reputation for being frugal the idea of them slapping on the rouge willy nilly just sounds unlikely.

Finally from my own humble experience, my lady who is 27 looks about 22 (slurp..dribble..) and doesn't wear much make up at all is a far cry from the image you portray.

Sorry, but I love the image of the 3 types of women you mention all swapping make up tips in the Ladies.

Of course Ive never actually been to Poland,

Then these things you say hold no value because you just don't know. Maybe these PL people you see in the UK are trying to look like others to fit in.

Well I have to disagree.. cos Im only talking about Polish people in London, of which there are many, so therefore I am entitled to an opinion...and yes they may be trying to fit in with other ex-pat Poles, but that doesnt make it right ....and I wasnt being entirely serious..

Italian women are fat, well most of them anyway. but they don't go crying out their beauty on forums.

In what concearns racism, I don't know about that. Maybe, maybe not. You said that you have enough with anti-polish comments? What would you prefer? An idotic agreement with everything that polish people do? I don't really think so.

Man, you sure write a lot for a man that is bored with the topic

Have a nice day
