Polish for 'going somewhere' please.

Hi, I wonder if anyone will help me please. I'm having difficulty choosing the right words when I try to tell someone where I'm going. I'm flying to England on Thursday and apparantly I told someone I was walking to England! (Haha, stupid me).
Is there a phrase in Polish which simply means I'm going somewhere, rather than saying whether I'm walking/flying/sailing/driving etc. Thanks for any help.

Wyjerzdrzam na __________ I am going away for (number of days)
or Wyjerzdrzam na pare dni I am going away for a few days.

I find it difficult in Polish to say I am going...
Because it looks like in Polish you have to state exaclty how you are going, plane, train or automobile.
Same way in Polish in the sentence when talking about a friend, you have to state it it is a female friend or male friend.

In English when we talk about travel, we are more concerned with direction of travel (i.e. I am going somewhere, or I am coming somewhere). In Polish they are less fussy about direction of travel, and more fussy about the means of travel.
So "I am going to Poland" is fine in English, but in Polish you would usually say "I am driving/flying/whatever to Poland"

P.S. I am not Polish, but it looks to me like "Wyjerzdrzam" is spelt wrongly. I think it should be wyjeżdżam instead.

Generally, for travels you can use the verb "jechać" (to another city, country), for going to a place (pub, museum, school, friend's place etc.) we rather use "iść" (even if it's not walking but driving).
wyjeżdżać ~= to leave for

W czwartek jadę do Anglii.
W poniedziałek Paweł idzie do szpitala.
Mój młodszy syn idzie w tym roku do szkoły. (he's starting school)

If an misunderstanding is possible, then you have to precise whether you travel by land, air, water or you walk.
W czwartek lecę do Anglii. (if it's important for you or the person to whom you're talking to know whether you travel by car/train/bus or rather by plane).
Jutro płyniemy/wypływamy do Szwecji.

You can also "udać się" to some place. It's a formal word but it doesn't specify the means of transport.
