Hi just wondering how many of you in Britain would ever buy polish greeting cards if they where available in shops.

The cards themselves would be written in polish but would have a separate slip translated into English. I have noticed a lot of people on here asking for translations for their cards.

would anyone buy them?
please dont think this is spam im just trying to find out if there would be a market in england thats all.

Dzienkuje

I imagine those with girl/boyfriends // friends// family from Poland might buy them :)

Don't see why not!

They would buy them; same in the US when Poles buy Polish greeting cards on many occasions for their family members in the US or Poland.

Polish stores in Chicago sell them and many look a lot better than some of the US cards. They will sell good.

Thanks everyone. I have translated some greetings and messages. And probably know more about the polish culture than what i know about my own.

i have a couple of cards selling in a local polish store but im too nervous to go and see if they are selling are not.

there are a few people interested in stocking them but i didnt want to go pouring money into it if nobody would buy them.

Does anyone know of anywhere in the uk that sells polish cards? I can find the odd website but no actual shops?

Good luck :) Are you advertising them in any way (like leaflets or such?) or is it not that big a project?

Cool :) So do you make up the greetings that you have translated?

Making your own greetings cards...
(Sorry, Millie - I still think you might have a good idea - I'm just one of those cheapskates!)

Some people say it's tacky.
Some people say it's more personal.

You can use whatever language you want.

not that big a project?

There are some areas populated by huge numbers of Polish people.
Cornershops and the like might be a good place to start.

Yeah, but it might help for them to know they are there to look for them - otherwise they might only be seen if they are looking at cards anyway.

(Well, if they are in the normal card section that is?)

Many corner shops are run by people with the entrepreneurial spirit.
Placing them by the Polish beer or Polish food shelves would be the sort of thing my local shop would think of.
But yes, it might take more than just that, but then again, why spend money on leaflets that never get read?

It depends on how well the cards have been made.

i could make anywhere between £1.50 to £25 per card.

however i would never make that sort of money selling in shops.
