The guy has been living in one town all his life. He thought he knew everything because he goes to bars and that's where he gets his education. And yes, he did find a "slut", who shares the same interests as him, (smoking, drinking, taking drugs, etc.) so they will stay together. The only thing we both liked doing was SNOWMOBILING!!!! I like watching Packers, but not in a smokey bar.
I introduced him to horse-back riding, traveling, polish culture, etc. You do learn something new from each other but it's like comparing apples to oranges.
For example. You take a yellow warbler and introduce him to a ruby-throated hummingbird. They fall in love. They have diff. interests and hobbies. They think it's so cool that one can do things the other cannot. But after a while it doesn't work out. One likes to eat sunflower seeds, the other saps nectar.
Same with people.

Well luckily we have introduced each other to some different things that each one of us have tried and liked. She likes to watch some of my favorite tv shows, likes the music I listen to. She got me more interested in traveling. I always wanted to, she just gave me that extra kick in the ass to get up and go ahead and do it. She even motivated me to learn to speak polish. Im trying, but I will spend a lot of time in the translation section. Im learning about the polish cultures also. I would make jokes to her saying I am part polish. But since we spend these long times apart, all I can do is pray that we can take it up a notch when we are able to see each other a lot. We will see what happens. Im going to keep you updated

I am Half POLISH and half INDIAN... In Poland people saw me more as Indian and in India people see me more as POLISH... I look like a mix and am look at differently in both cultures... but ACCEPTED BY BOTH... and so I guess Poland is changing to be more multicultural and accepting... just as is India too!

Is it true that lot of polish people are attracted to people of other races, especially black american? I am black american myself. I heard this because black american people are seen as exotic because we arent seen that much in Poland, just on TV when they watch MTV or something. So it makes us attractive when we are seen in person because its not soemthing you see everyday in parts of Poland.

Yes that`s true. We have a strong deficit when it comes to black women.. (when it comes to Asian women the situation dosn`t look as bad - there are a lot of Vietnamese here but when it comes to black women there are practicly none)

btw.

The most fameous Polish black women is the TVN weatcher chick Omenaa Mensah..

p
p

..but as I say we have a strong deficit when it comes to the women representing the Nubian type of beauty... I`d say it`s quite a very sad situation ..a very sad situation.. just sad...

You know, the guy that's all black? He's got this black cape and flies around town at night and drinks blood from your neck. Never heard of him?

I thought you were talking about Batman, as in Bruce Wayne. This Batman doesnt drink anybodys blood though. Now a black guy who flies around at night and drinks blood from your neck, are you talking about Blade?

I don't think that Poland was ever that hostile place towards foreigners as some people try to depict it. The only thing that actually has changed is that Poles are getting more and more used to people from other ethnic groups. Blacks, Asians, Indians etc don't get that much stare while walking our streets, than they were given lets say 20 or even 10 years ago. Lets face it, if I was to travel to Africa and land up in a village where they haven't had the chance to see a white person before, I bet I would be a sensation of the day. We are not that different from each other.

I personally dont think interracial relationships work - and I dont think it's fair on the children - they're neither accepted by one site or the other.

for you it may not. For others...it's quite accepted nowadays. Especially for children. All of our schools are mixed.

This is a very interesting thread. I'm black (well mixed) my dad white English, my mum Jamaican and have grown up in Birmingham. I think that the best thing about the world is meeting people who are different. How boring it would be if we were all the same!

I'm just looking at Polish culture on the net and learning some Polish because I've recently met a Polish girl who i'm absolutely crazy about and she seems to be the same about me. We did discuss the race thing and she was saying that it tends to be older people who would react, which makes sense. It's a bit of a shame that I'm so excited about her and want to visit her, but can't help worrying about the reaction from other people. As long as she can cope though, that's fine by me. She is incredible!!!!

Well u r wrong. Because my parents relationship work and I feel proud to be a part of both cultures (or even three if u include growing up in the states). But I will always feel torn between the two as to me not one is better then other but both are a part of me... and thats the way it will always be...

Well... my dads family were not so traditional... they keep some particular values at home and stuff like that but my dad met my mom while studying in the states. My dads family were a bit strange actually... but not in particular to my mom... but they were against the idea of him being with a woman who was american, british, australian, irish, etc... but not with a woman from europe (Polish, or even it had been German, Italian, Spanish, Russian, etc)...

... no arranged marriages from my grandparents to force on their kids i think thats why my dad also didnt want to enforce this type of value on us... but still grew up in a home with many different traditional values of both indian and polish culture....

The world has so many cultures... why not mix and match.. make it more interesting U r right we would be so boring if we were all the same...

While I wouldnt worry to much about reaction in poland. Lots of people will say u r "exotic" and that is a compliment so take it well and be proud
