How many husbands are you allowed to have?

oh i knew that wud b the next question..lol..well coz say if i had 4 husbands n i slept with all of dem n then i got pregnant i wudnt kno hu the father was..n so 2 avoid conflict between husbands n families etc women are only allowed 1 husband but a man is allowed 4 wives.. :)

Can I ask you a question? Do you follow your religion by the book? I know someone that calls himself muslim and strangely enough he came with me on a night out to get drunk and pick up women yet he still prayed. There seems to be a few people that do this.

im not gona lie n say im a devout muslim coz no im not..n 2 b honest i dont think the majority of the younger generation do follow islam by the book..there are so many things that as a muslim we are not allowed to do..eg drinking alcohol and goin clubbing etc..and as uv stated correctly Arise_St_George many people still do this..

i dont go clubbin nor do i drink or sleep around etc and thats coz there are so many other things that i do which are against my religion id like to keep a limit on things.. i mean i dont even like goin clubbin (n yes iv bin 1ce so i do kno wat its like)..

Well if it's presumed that you would treat each husband the same (as is the case with 4 wives) why would it matter who fathered the child? They would all share in the responsibility of raising the child.

hmmm......well wen the child grows up im sure he/she wud like to kno he their proper father is and that wudnt be possible..dus that make sense??? 2share responsibilty of the child when they are younger is easier tahn wen the child has grown up and wants 2 know which 1 of them 4 men is their father!!!

I always thought it had something to do with the income. Men are supposed to be the ones that go out and work and feed their wive(s) and children whereas the women are supposed to stay at home and look after the house and family. I assumed that's why muslim men had the option of more than one wife and women only having the option of 1 husband.

this is not always true..women ARE allowed to go out and work.. but i know where ur coming from..ur arguemnet makes sense..it could be a mixture of these things..

In the West this is obviously different. Muslim women do go out and work and earn a wage but in alot of muslim countries women are asked to stay at home to look after the houses and family. The lifestyle is totally different in the West.

i thnk its a stereotypical view coz im sure i read sumwer that women in like afghanistan go out 2 work but in an all female place of work..dont quote me on it tho.. lol..

It's a pity that family members are so violent that legitimate marital arrangements might cause issues. But I am relieved to see that the peaceful religion of Islam prevents such conflicts at all cost, huh ;)

I find it funny Islam see Jesus as a prophet yet they ignore all his teachings. Even as you said Arise that those phrases were taking out of context, either way I dont remember Jesus ever spreading a message like that. War or no war.

Jesus says turn the other cheek and Muhammed say spread the faith by the sword. A little bit of a contradiction here.... I dont understand how Islam agrees with Jesus and Muhammed at the same time if they both spread opposite messages.

Plus Islam when moderate is acceptable but the truth is that in the majority of the middle east that it is not.

Contradiction? They're two different religions. Each can be taken out of context. You read those passages from the Quran and assume that it spreads hatred and violence. This is exactly how muslim extremists are easily brainwashed.

Let me quote something from the bible;

Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to turn "a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law--a man's enemies will be the members of his own household." (Matthew 10:34-36)

Does that not sound like a message of hatred to you? It's easy to misinterpret both the bible and the Quran. What you should worry about are the dumbasses that misinterpret them to justify their hatred and violence against non-muslims. It isn't the Quran to blame. It's the muslim extremists.

Yes understandable, but Jesus is seen as a prophet in Islam. So obviously they accept his teachings. Once again his teachings are in complete opposite to Muhammed. Your explanation is useless.

Either way that quote is not telling us to kill. It tells us the purpose of Jesus coming here....... Muhammed's message was to tell the people to kill.....

It doesn't mention the word kill but it mentions the word sword. Do you think the sword was to be used as a toothpick?

can't you read English. It's Jesus talking and telling us why he's here or more specifically what will occur. Did Jesus say go pick up a sword? the answer is no to that question.
