Who the hell have you been dating??? I can only conclude you have been with the wrong English men because I know and haved dated English men that have treated me as above...

Maybe it's just the area I live in then. All the English guys here just want to get drunk and break windows.. maybe I should move to Krakow ;0)

I found that polish men can have a very charming effect on women as they have good manners i agree. but the polish guy i dated was a complete gentleman for 7 whole months til i found out he had a girlfriend in poland who came over here to live a few months ago and he didnt even tell me, he asked me to meet him in the pub one night and when i got there, there he was sitting beside her, it was his friend hen that told me the story so what a complete idiot i was, i was so hurt,
so like i said to goldie earlier their all nice in the beginning.

lol well put Amathyst.

You know, on/off is Polish and he's all those mannerly things mentioned before, opens doors, blah blah but I am under no illusions about 'the other side' of him. He told me before that he get possessive and aggressive. I didn't believe him until he went after a guy on a night out because he smashed a bottle near where I was sitting (we fell out after that for ages) and he acts like a jerk if another guy talks to me. There are parts of him that make me cringe badly but I don't believe that's anything to do with his nationality - its just him! :-)

I am an Irish woman dating a Polish man and he is the sweetest, sexiest, most considerate man I have ever been out with. I have met many of his friends and have been treated like a princess from word go by all of them. Polish guys rock!!

This is from the original post. Yeah I have experienced all this...but so has my sister and she is with a British guy. And I wouldn't say Princess as such but treated well. Polish guys do rock but so do guys from many countries. :-)

I did however have relationship with a Polish guy, his knowledge of litterature was something that I found made me fond of him more and more - to speak about such things sometimes that is more difficult with some men (that Im actually attacted to) was the thing that made it for me...conversation is very understated these days..

I find it that I am way too emotionally open than "American" men...

I don't really care what people think of me, unlike my American counterparts act all hard.

Even though I consider myself american I was still born and raised in Poland and hold a lot of my polish values close to me :)

How old were you when you moved to the United States?

It's good you still take pride in your Polish heritage. Many others have a tendency in losing interest in preserving their ethnicity, after being exposed to new cultural surroundings.

i have to say that I agree wtih Sunflower about Polish men.. I have also never met an English man who has treated me with the same amount of respect. .and at times disrepect. Of couse there are different character traits in all nationalities and individuals, but from what I have seen on here there do seem to be some good and bad traits that are common to many Polish men and women. For my part I'd like to list: charm, romance, good manners, traditional values, sexiness and on the flip side: jealousy, possessiveness, agression, womanising and alcoholism. There is good and bad in all nations, and sometimes all in the same package.

sapphire i find the same with my man, but he isnot aggressive, when he is angry he is very quiet and the silent treatment is powerful. i am stubborn too and many of our fights are re. his over possessive ness (me feeling my privacy is violated/im not trusted) and him feeling its his right. tihs will never change so its a womans choice as to whether the good traits outweight the bad i suppose....

Hi

All what I read realy surprises me. Firstly that, things like opening the door or beeing gentel, is somting new for foregin girls. To be honest it is quite normal in Poland... maybe it isnt in relationships in age under 16, but i remember in that age i wasn't nice for girls at all ;)

I agree, that behavior isn't acting to "get something more", thats just part of our culture.

But when I look in the past, and remind the situations when I was abroad, and behaved like everyday here, some girls were postivle surprised, but i didn't think that it plays such a big role.

Do they? And if yes, then why is it so difficult to communicate with them? Even in Polish, as I'm Polish... Or maybe it's just me and my bad luck
G

Its bad luck. My boyfirend is more in touch with his feelings and emotions than any other guy I have been with. He is the most romantic aswell by far. Hes is loving in public to the point where girls look at us and wished that their boyfriends were like he is and the guys think ' Oh ****, she is going to want me to be like that' Lol It is quite funny.

Men like this are rare from any nationality.

I am a polish woman and i'm two years with an irish man. After meeting him i could never even look at a polish man. They pale in comparison to irish men. Polish men are rude, drunkard, dissapointing in bed and they are generally not as intelligent as irish men. I have found them to be very vain and self obsessed.

Surely that cant be true about all the polish men. Unless you have taken the time to get to know every single one of them.
