the point was to talk to a girl - some men feel that it boosts their ego - I don't know, who knows:)

[quote=Public] @sapphire- How do you know how I act like when I'm meeting someone? This is internet. Never take everyone's word serious here.

There is one joke I found.

A Polish guy is talking to an English girl. It seems they're having a nice conversation, untill the girl asks:

English girl: sooo, I can hear a small accent in your voice, where are you from?

Polish guy: Well... I'm from Poland

English girl: Ooohh, you're one of them? Yayks, soooo it was nice to meet ya! Bye!

<Alternative ending>

English girl: sooo, I can hear a small accent in your voice, where are you from?

Polish guy: Well, I don't like to talk about it. Because I think it doesn't actually matter where are you from, the personality matters. I don't care where are you from, maybe you are an English maybe not, but if we're having a nice talk, why to bother about it?

English girl: Okay then! I just asked! See ya!>

...................................................................... ...........................

OK now you dont sound so bad. Ive been in this scenario. When I met my bf, his English was very bad and we were in a noisy bar. I asked him where he was from and I thought he said Holland, not Poland. I thought that most Dutch people had a better level of English, but it was only later I realised he was actually Polish. Thankfully his English has improved a lot since then, although mine has got worse. Someone recently asked me if I was from Eastern Europe, but I come from Birmingham! The message here is be careful of inter-cultural relationships as they can f^&k with your accent.

I would rather say that was a bonus for a brummy Foxy ;-)

but seriously Public, if some girl doesnt like you because of your nationality then they're not such a nice person same as if a girl doesnt like guys because they dont have a big fat wallet.

Love it, my Polish b/f has a very strong accent but he sounds more German than Polish, but I really like it. Also when he makes silly translation errors i.e. Film called 'Silence of the Lambs' he calls 'Silence of the Sheeps' as there's only one collective word. We both laugh at the mistakes, it's great fun at times.

nihil obstat

I would use the Latin equivalent especially if it's for a legal document - see below:

Santa SusannaNB: Failure to obtain the Nihil Obstat (with the Diocesan Seal) will result in the ... Only this Nulla Osta is needed for your wedding at St. Peter's. ...
