I think it was a dyslexic insult, i think you were right he meant to say 'Shrub' maybe he's a horticulturalist and wasn't being mean at all?

Or maybe he meant "Scrub"

"A scrub is a guy that thinks he's fly
And is also known as a buster
Always talkin' about what he wants
And just sits on his broke ass
A scrub is a guy that cant get no love from me
Hanging out the passenger side
Of his best-friend's ride
Trying to holler at me"

Daffy, I think long-distance relationships are ideal because it keeps things exciting and you still have your freedom ...but I think I am in the minority on that one.

Anyway, to be honest, I love English guys and I think they tend to be witty and keep me laughing non-stop when I am with them. There are many good looking ones in my city although they all cuss like madmen..which turns out to be quite endearing with those accents!

I think you're right

Although the idea of insulting someone by calling them by various plant names was endearing. The possibilities were endless. " Back off you hydrangea", "God your'e a right Wisteria", "Fuschia off"

Why Polish men are hot

This is a tricky one: I don't want to upset any other nationalities here, but there is just something very sexy about Polish guys. Have tried to distill the reasons:

1. A lot of Polish guys I know see women quite definitely as sexual objects (as well as people). After a lifetime of liberal crap in the UK, I LIKE being seen as a sexual object! At last!!

2. Their physical expectations of women tend to be high, but they are similarly concerned about their own physical fitness, which isn't a bad thing at all. They are aware that it's important to care about your body - not just allow it to slump in front of the telly into a blob.

3. The distinction between male and female is so clearly defined, and reiterated in every utterance, as it's so embedded in the language. This too I find v sexy.

4. Polish guys don't tend to winge much, as far as I can see. They definitely mostly try to be he-men.

5. What is this bollocks I am writing? Basically I am saying they are fitter, aren't I? Jeez. Does anyone else agree, or is it just me??

Im sorry but all of the above you can say about any nation, woman are just if not more obsessed about their figures in the UK, you go into any gym and you will see the evidence.

Men are men and like woman to look good, whether they are Polish or not..

Maybe I've been lucky the men I've dated have always done the whole opening doors and stuff (I wouldnt have dated them otherwise!) and they were English.

Whining, all men do it! Polish, English, French, German - they just love a good moan!

hahaha how funny is this, a nice little topic so that all the polish can tell each other how much they love themselves or their men. When you've all detached yourselves from the rear end or in some cases the front end, you will realise that nationality has nothing to do with hottness or anything else, it is actually the individual.

That goes for girls or boys, men or women, hang on a second is that coffee i smell, yeah i think it is and i'm guessing you lot might start to smell it soon too :)

I know it seems ridiculous, but I'm telling you, there really is something about Polish men. It must be pheromonal. Or I am hormonal. : )

You can't say that the definition of sexuality is inherent in every utterance of English ... we have a very boringly unisex language. In Polish I am ona, i zladlam, spalam, trulam dupe ... but on zladl, spal, trul dupe ... everything that is said reiterates, reinforces, the distinction of the sexes. And that, sick as I may be, I find sexy. It reminds me that I'm a woman. I love it.

You are not a fan of poetry then I take it? Some wonderful English poets have written some beautiful romantic prose, the English are romantics at heart it's just a shame a lot of twisted bitter people have just forgotten that or chose to totally ignore it because they are too fixed on something else...

on a serious note.

I don't understand why this question even arised here. Sexiness means different things for different people, so it is not a matter of nationality but what we as individuals find sexy.

What I find the most sexy is when I want somebody as much as somebody wants me.

So, we are all differrent and seems like Pipeczko was resisting but found her match to her suprise. He happens to be Polish.

Good luck;)

Thanks, Miranda. Still think there is a particiular romance, and something more real, to Polish men, though. Or maybe I'm just bitter and twisted as ShelleyS seems to think. ;)

I am a fan of poetry. English degree from Oxford helps with that. And as such, I am also probably as sensitive to language as at least the next person. And the beauty one might find in Englilsh poesy is different to the sexual distinction you find in, for example, Polish. It does not exist in English. We do other things - yes, beautiful things - but not that. Not in the same way. And the sexualisation of language, in the example I have of Polish, entrances me. Other languages, of course, do the same thing, but I just happen to be more intimate with Polish at the moment.

We don't even, in modern English, make the distinction between an intimate 'you' and a more general plural 'you'. One could argue that there is a deliciousness in the cloudy imprecision of English in such areas - leaves more to the imagination - but for me the 'ciê' in 'kocham ciê' has more effect. I relish the directness. So don't even begin to say there's something wrong with me for that. Well, you can if you want, but it will be nonsense. :)
