Porn ?

No, it's not porn. It's a romantic comedy. But it's not a big Hollywood studio production so that's why it's considered low budget. We've contacted a couple of directors but we're still looking around before we decide. If anyone knows anyone, please let them know about the job offer. Thanks!

In every post you stress this is a "low-budget movie." But have you considered "low-budget" for you may mean "big budget" for your potential Polish director or actors? Not sure if you can quote the exact numbers, but when you write "low budged" - does it mean the actor or director would make less than, let's say, $10 an hour?

I never thought of that. Thanks for the advice. The director is scheduled to receive about $10,000 dollars total for 5 weeks of work. Travel and hotel expenses will be paid for by the producers. Meals will also be paid for during filming hours. Compared to someone like Roman Polanski that's a very small amount.

I think it's not bad (if you add some % of profit that would sound even better and be a good motivating factor though .

If I was younger and had more energy, i would definately go for it - it sounds like fun too.

That's why it's called a low budget. It's the director's guild of america's rate. Directors typically receive that amount. People who want more than what other directors get won't get the job.

I think mentioning how many actors a prospective director is going to work with and what level of English/Polish knowledge is required to do a good job would be useful too.

That's true. Thanks for that advice, too. We're definitely going to discuss all the details with anyone who is interested. We'll send them a copy of the screenplay and negotiate a deal with them if we like their work.

It's a full length feature film with many characters and extras. One of the main characters is a Polish immigrant who speaks English. We're going to have a Polish technical advisor work with us so having advanced knowledge of the Polish culture or language isn't necessary. But they definitely need to speak English.

Our main interest is having people of Polish ancestry involved in the project because it would just seem weird to have Italians or Mexicans working on a Polish project.

Are you between the ages of 21-35? He's supposed to be around 30-ish. The Australian accent isn't in the script but it might make the story interesting. A Polish immigrant from Australia who wants to stay in America.

The reason we would like acting experience is because experienced actors are used to memorizing lines. And we want someone who can act naturally in front of the camera which can sometimes take practice. But some people are natural at it.

No, believe me, there is no nudity or sex scenes or even bad language in the story. You can try out for the role if you're interested. Just send an email to urbanfilmcasting@yahoo.com and they'll send you instructions. They ask actors to send a video recording of themselves reading some of the lines. It doesn't have to be professional. Just something to show what you look like and sound like.

The $10,000 dollars is not the actual amount in case someone wonders. It's just my own personal estimate based on directors guild rates.
