My thoughts on reading some of these posts is that many of the young European people
have no understanding of their heritage or culture...in fact, they mock it and consider it
irrelevant, prefering instead to swallow the view of culture that is portrayed in the mass
media...in other words, propaganda, that is designed to feed their heads with illusions,
and take money out of their pockets...now, it is always important for people to grow as
individuals, explore new areas, discover new things...but you must have some understanding of where you came from...you will find that Asians, Jews & Africans for
the most part retain important parts of their cultures, and are proud, sometimes too much so...preservation of national culture is important, especially for Slavic people who
have struggled so long to make progress...this is why I don't like the emphasis on 'alternative sexual lifestyles', because in the end it leads to the death of a nation by
lowering birth rates & destroying the family...You will never know where you are going
unless you have an understanding of where you came from...Not all things 'modern' are
good...there is something greater than 'Me'.

no one on here as far as I can see has those thought joe, looks like most people who posted do know or are at least interested in learning about their own as well as other peoples culture. Not to see "who's is best" but for the good old fashioned reasons you stated above, knowing where you come from making you stonger etc, Im not going to bore you but I can trace by family tree back to the 17th century for just that reason and also for that reason although Im a proud Celt with ties to both Scotland and Ireland I can also say the celts were a people who started off in the same lands as the slavs, distant cousins maybe? It would certainly seem that the Celts and Slavs have more in commen with each other than the more central ,ie germany france and the germanic english, european nations. Im no expert but in neo lithic times our cultures were almost identical, and we were never conquered by Rome either :)
I have to heartily agree with you,I wish young people did know more of their history and less about TV soaps and fashion ,holywood etc,its all so "plastic", maybe if our kids did they wouldnt feel as lost or helpless when being asked to "respect" other cultures(say no more but the ,wife beating ,suicide bombing, getting a r s y over cartoons cultures) that they know are suspect but are being told are acceptable in the 21st century.
as to "alternative lifestyles" leave it alone mate,we all made our points in the other thread, besides, the romans went in for all that pervy weird stuff and they did all right for a few hundred years :O and if one or 10 percent of men dont want to procreate with women, great, more for the rest of us :)

my big hairy Celtic backside

I salute you isthatu, son of Celts. From my father`s side I am of roboust Dinarids and my mother is Cetic rose of Scordisc tribe. From which tribe particulary, are your ancestors?

For sure Celts were branch of Slavs, that is obvious from historic data. Or, to say that they were Sarmatians (first universal name of all Slavs). Only propaganda of so called (to say false) West denied Slavic past of Celts, for political reasons.

I call you to learn to accept great Slavic contribution to European and human heritage isthatu. We must learn to share our history, in order to learn to share our future.

Crow, as much as I don't wish to encourage you, as it must go against my better nature, did you know that a genealogist somewhere, has found a close link between the Basques and teh Welsh, Cornish and Bretons

*I'm regretting this already*

Unfortunatly I wouldnt know where to start on that one,Clan McKay(not my last name though all you dodgy folks out there :) ) I suppose would be the closest to "tribe" such.
Im not sure about propaganda as such, maybe just a lack of focus on the border peoples of the UKs history.
Aparantly thats so Daisy, even down to the DNA level, not to mention the linguistic similarities of bretton and Gealic dialects. Maybe "we" just didnt get on so much with all the vikings that were wandering about :)

I am shocked really.
It's like you would say that Aborigines came to Australia after today's Aussies...slavs came to europe from the east.but i suppose you think serbs were already then in europe, before everyone else...

The Sarmatians flourished from the time of Herodotus and allied partly with the Huns when they arrived in the 4th century AD.

The Sarmatians were closely related to the Scythians.

There used to be a popular belief (Sarmatism) in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth between 16-th and 19-th century, that nobility is a direct descendant of Sarmatians. Insufficient scientific evidence exists to back up such claim.
it's romantic nationalism, just like vikings and their horns.and aryan theories of germans, later slavs.there is no scientific evidences.

Linguistic boundaries do not give a very accurate picture of where different groups of people originally came from.
Look at how the dominant language of Ireland is English, for example.
Spanish is spoken across most of Central and South America.
Yiddish is a Germanic language.
It is estimated that the population of Turkey is only about 12% Turkic in origin.

It is my opinion that, especially in the distant past, people did not move around the world as quickly as the cultural changes that affected them did.
