Question 3 is wrong.

There are 2 good answers. You can say:

Don't you say 'Kto jest wyższy, ...?' ?

no thats wrong, Laxentis. they are both female, so if anything it would be wyższą, not wyższym. i'd say wyżej would be ok there, but that would mean who is higher up, not taller, so wyższy is the only correct answer.

test quite good, but, as i know polish, there are three or four mistakes :D

for example:
not "10. Kto to był ten mężczyzna, _____? "
but "10. KIM był ten mężczyzna, _____? " it's not big mistake, but it is.

and
in sentence "11. Co będziesz jadła, Zosia? Jest jeszcze trochę bigos,
ale nie ma już chleba i sałaty." there are two wrong words, Zosia (should be Zosiu) and bigos (should be bigosu)


and question 3 is good, and "wyższym" in fact is an archaism

Yes, IV part can be little bit complicated for not Polish. I scored 100% but while I was doing this test, I little bit pondered on answers in IV part, because it`s formulate a bit incomprehensible. (Ok, it relates to just only one, maybe two exercises). :)

Should be "Dokąd idziesz?". It's very common mistake.

and have to contest IV,8 as the answer is actually a not b. the article talks about problems as well positives thus nullifying answer b.


nah, the first is right also. the two sentences actually have two different meanings. they are not the same.


i was thinking that too.. it's a bit unnatural but Zosia could be an old skool way of saying it. not sure.


not really.. dokad asks for a more precise location then gdzie. dokad could also have a time/timing inferred.

I'm sure that a lot of native English speakers wouldn't do much better. :)

the Vocative case in common language is not always used, it becomes often replaced with Nominative.
And I agree that the test has some mistakes (kto - kim, gdzie - dokąd etc.), but they are really common among native speakers, so I assume the authors simply wanted to present rather a colloquial version of our language, not the ubercorrect schoolbooks forms, but they should mention it somewhere.

I scored 78%, not too bad for a non-native Pole.
