the british are paying for poles in this country NOT the other way around

blame the british for paying, not the polish for taking the money then.

Poles have only been paying tax for about one year, the british have been paying tax their whole lives.

Makes sense to me that none of them paid tax BEFORE moving here. And we've not being paying taxes our whole lives...or am I about to get done for all those year I never paid while I was a baby, toddler etc?

2. poles pay far less local tax because they live in groups of 5+ in one bedroom flats/apartments

That's smart to me! The more people in a flat, the less council tax to pay per person, less on bills each...

so you think its right that poles have never paid tax here and they get free hospital care, child benefits, free education, housing etc. ?

and to top it off they get all the tax they paid back when they leave.

It is possible to pay too much tax by PAYE. Fill in a P85 and you can claim back what is owed when you leave.

The Salvation Army has provided the Doroszenkos with food parcels and the homeless charity, Shelter, is trying to find them a permanent home

They are charities.

No immigration, therefore no emigration?
Because it is only a matter of where you are standing.

the point is the children can only speak Polish and the Schools have no funding for the influx of non english speaking children. That means ordinary teaching resources are having to be diverted from educating the existing children, whilst they are attempting to teach the other children english so that they can take part in the day to day lessons. This is a major problem and quite rightly exisiting children should not be put in a position where their education is severely affected by this. This Government should quickly identify the area's where this is happening and provide the necessary funds to assist. Headteachers shouldn't have to go and lobby for funds they should be in School !!

Well then that's the government's fault and not the immigrants'

The government allowed them to come in such large numbers without really thinking it through. Student's shouldn't be getting blamed for this.

Thanks for clearing that up. :] I thought he was just being a hypocritical @ss.

not that poles need an education as you dont need a degree to clean toilets

how god damn stupid is this person actually??
seems as if you got your education on dirty toilets...

by the way. did you now that poles when they go back home have to pay taxes for all the years they worked in a different country?
it's not them who can be blamed but the governments of both states who need to sort that out. at the end you should pay your tax where you earn...

but as i said. it is NOT the immigrants who are to be blamed.
even foul language doesn't change that...

Do all Poles in the UK live in groups of 5+ in one bedroom?

Im afraid that most do Slick, I remember going to a typical Polish household back in 2005 with my Polish girlfriend in not the best area of Southampton. There were approximately 12 adults living in a three bedroomed house, i saw it with my own eyes. There was (in addition) two babys less than a year old, both born in England. At the time I was a little concerned planning a baby with my then GF and we both had respectable carreers and a two bedroom flat. Got to hand it to the Poles they sure are resourceful.

Hi Lady.
No but some do, in the case of Poles living in cramped conditions to save money and send home, then yes most do.

Yeah, well thanks for that info Wroclaw Boy but it's not entirely correct ot say 'most do'. The ones you have met or seen may do but that is not 'most' of them in my book. But it's fair enough to post your comments based on what you have seen. Accomodation is expensive in the UK as well.

I know some Poles who don't live in 'cramped conditions' and I do mean those who emigrated here recently.

Some English people live in cramped conditions and have lived here all their life, some other nationalities also tend to live in small houses and house many family members of all generations.

:))

and as i mentioned above they still have to pay their taxes in their home countries. this is most certainly not going to stay like this forever and is down to bureaucracy, ie immigrants CAN'T be blamed for that! is it really that difficult to understand??

So does that mean English people living and working in another Country can do the same i.e claim their tax back when they come back to England (with their kids who maybe were receiving free education too). Am assuming they would of course have been working in a member EU state ?

:))
