Polish regions and food

I think it is quite interesting different regions of Poland and different recipies even different names for dishes .

For instance in Krakow burgers we call sznycel - I know in the north it is called kotlet .
mielony.

I am curious how do you cook betroot soup ? I gave mine to my few English friends and they quite like it.

Also, in Poznan I like to buy frankfurterki. I mention this type of sausage in other regions of PL and it's unheard of.

Ukrainian barszcz is very nice. I never cooked it myself.

Are Frankfurterki - parowki?

In Krakow in bakery we call straight rogal- sztangielek. It is very Krakow name.

No, it's not like a hot dog at all. It is a thin sausage though. Much closer to kielbasa as far as looks and textures goes, but as thin as a finger. Usually boiled.

It's a homemade bread "fingerbread" made in Ch³opy. It's made fresh every morning and brought home warm. It's sooo good. I'm not sure they bake it anywhere else.

I know gofry but I think this is really Belgium dish.

Plauchy- look similar to obwarzanki from Krakow. Obwarzanki have only different shape they are round. Have you ever been to Krakow? They sell them fresh first thing in the morning.But I think they are probbaly harder, these paluchy look quite soft.

Oh they are very soft and so good. I think that you can only get these in Ch³opy.
I've had Obwarzanki but I think that's closer to an American Soft Pretzel. The Gofry you can get all along the coast. I think it's belgian beacuse of the waffles.

I had cake called sekacz but it didn't look so impressive like this one on the picture.

It's sliced diagonally in thin layers. Made around christmas time.

Why does it surprise us that you prefer Polish food rather than anyone elses food???......Are you sure you gave the recipe to your English friends??.....Or was that just made up??.......Why don't you do us all a favour and go back to Poland?....and take your husband with you!
