Are Poles working in the UK entitled to register with a GP and get free treatment?

Yes, Poland and the UK have a kinda healthy treaty, they get free medical treatment over here and we English free treatment in Poland, if we need it.

Poland is signed up to the EHIC scheme (European Health Insurance Card) as is the UK.

If medical care is free in Poland (i'm hazy on that) as it is in the UK, then in each particpating EU member state, it is also free on production of said card.

No voodoo involved. :)

In Poland, free treatment depends on you showing you have paid your ZUS health contributions (health part of national insurance contributions).
Without ZUS proof they ask you to go private - even if, in my case, it was an emergency.
To prove you've paid your ZUS, you have to show the paying-in slips or get proof of payment from your employer.
If you can't provide proof yourself, you have to approach ZUS (the social security agency) and they will give you proof in around 6-8 months.
Much voodoo, Huegel, I'm afraid.

It was mother's fault. She bought me an ala Descartes kitchen as a child.

Thanks for the info.
It's not at all like the british setup then, I stubbed my toe. An ambulance will be with you shortly. You live where? Full riot gear, wait a minute the ones with squareheads and drainpipes are the good guys.

All part of the service and that follows us around, in a non stalker type way. Like a medical American Express, that'll do nicely.
