Polish Residency/Citizenship

How hard/easy is it to obtain Polish residency or citizenship? Or is there some different type of -cy or -ship?

I know in the US it is so hard to get anything. Took me almost a decade for a green card (residency).

Oh, and what is the policy on foreigners (specially from US) residing in Poland?
