Can someone tell me what a petition can do that an official complaint from one person can't do.
The Polish Government, through their official, has made a complaint. What more do you need ?

""Please stop blaming the taser for the Robert's death. It is not fair to our share prices, and our investors. We will use vast amounts of money to protect our source of taxpayer revenues. It is clear that he was saying "bring it on you scumbag cops, I'll kick your asses", as he continued to fight with the friendly, patient and professional officers who arrived at the scene to assist him."

Pardon me Marecki, The blurb you quoted was my farcical take on what their website said. It would be beneficial if you could find the website and read it for yourself. They have a very "nice way" of presenting their position, and the quote is not directly attributed to them. My apologies if this has confused you.

a short quote from the flwg article:

liveleak.com/view?i=b22_1193866884

"...A police officer asked to see what Pritchard had filmed. Then the officer asked for a copy of the memory card and Pritchard agreed. When the officer said he didn't have the technology to make a copy at the airport, Pritchard unhappily agreed to let him take the camera and memory card as long as it was returned to him within 48 hours.

But the next day, Pritchard said the officer called him and said police would not return the memory card. They did return the camera and a replacement memory card. Pritchard alleges police told him he'd get the footage back in 1 1/2 or 2 1/2 years, when the inquest and investigation are complete..."

oh...may I add, that there are paramedics on bicycles in the airport. Seen them many a times. The initial reports state that they were not called, but an ambulance was dispatched and arrived 12 minutes later.

Good job!:)....by Congo standards (no offense). And 12 minutes from where to where? the curbside, the entrance...from dispatch, from the time the call was received...and another 5-10 to get to a dying man? You know, if you need to, you can get up, get dressed, grab some coffee and be off to work in 12 minutes! It's a joke!

I have been saying for years that the RCMP are out of control. As a Canadian I am more than Embaressed by this buch of murderous thugs. Sadly, the good news is that this is the straw that breaks the camels back. Sadly, it is the death of a polish immigrant that starts the fall to grace of these bunch of criminals. But, there you have it. The RCMP have without a doubt been proven the liars that they are. Now, we can start dismanteling this National and International Disgrace.

Globe an Mail from Nove 17
"RCMP falsehoods on Dziekanski's death

Canadians cannot believe a word the RCMP have to say over the taser death of Robert Dziekanski. The cruelty of the response by four Mounties to the Polish man's plight is a shocking example of police inhumanity. The disinformation campaign waged later can only further harm the reputation and credibility of the force. How, when an RCMP spokesman stands up in the future and calmly gives a version of events involving a member, can he be trusted?"

It can do a lot of good in the world, buddy. It shows that thousands of people are sick of what they've seen! It shows that we/they will not put up with this, it shows that the way you think Poland would still kiss Soviet asses if we had hoped that say - Walesa - could have done all this just by himself as an "official person" in which case you wouldn't even know what the internet is to save your life.....

You might wanna look up "friend" (misspelled twice in one sentence...) and "preposition usage" with "beneficial"....before making "grammar comments".

I'm glad to hear that it was something as simple as a petition that stopped Poland from kissing ass. Doubtless you signed it.

If you are going to pick me up on something. At least keep it relevant to the topic.

to Wroclaw
as far as quoting homw123 I think it was only an example
If you have a request signe by million people requesting something, it does make a big difference especially if a person you send it to wants to be reelected etc.

I live in British Columbia Canada, this whole issue is so heartbreaking.
I am so sad and frustrated of hearing about this poor woman and her son.. I was just watching the evening news, they are showing how people are grouping together to raise enough money to send her back with her sons ashes... I think that is admirable, I have to say.. What the hell is wrong with our country... why is the government not paying for all of this.. it was our laws, our airport, our policemen, that killed this man. This woman scraped together all of her earnings to bring her son here... there is no reason on god's green earth that she or any other friend or family member or what have you, should have put together a fund to allow her to now bring her son back to poland and bury him. OUR COUNTRY SHOULD BE FOOTING THIS BILL! I am almost sick to my stomach to have to call myself canadian.

no but they kill people without hesitation

oh can it homo.. i think its already been established that this incident is tragic and in a sense isolated since this sort of thing doesnt happen everyday, at least not in Canada. And those RCMPS are not a reflection of ALL police officers in Canada. Learn something child.

it's millitia. It was a communist equivalent of police. The main difference was that while police is not supposed to represent or support any particular political view, milicja was very much an armed wing of communist oppression. I don;t even think it was possible to work for milicja without being a member of the communist party.

it is because many Canadians don't trust that the government will conduct a fair investigation, thereofre they want to make sure that it will be done. There is no guarntee and it may take years, but every word counts.
Alos, people are worried that if RCMP so freerly used force, one day, another innocent citizen might be a victim. It has happened before and nauczyciel posted a thred on a retired men in Kelowna, who was tasered after parking in the wrong place. So, Dziaknski's death is not an isolated incident.

This incident represents the dark side of Canadian society. It's times like this that a political point can be made. For example a petition sure, but all it really does is that it represents a group of faceless people who are collective in there thoughts. But politicians want to be re-elected. So along with petitions call your local M.L.A., phone so many times that their offices are swamped with explanations and they have no time for other work , tell them what you want the governement to do after all it is your government. Do it as often as you can, it is your right, and tell them if nothing happens than they are not going to be re-elected. Tell them to answer your concerns,in a lettter outlining what they have down about it. Remember Canada has minority government, and they don't want to come down from their lofty perch. You do have the power. Use that Polish perserverance.

geez..im really sick of how stupid and ignorant most people in this forum are...!
most of them prolly dont have an ounce of polish blood in them..they just like to harass those that do for god knows what reason!

thank you.. commusnism was the reason we left Poland so i doubt my dad was a milicjant. we lived in a very tiny town and if my dad was affiliated with that in any way i would have known...hopefully!!

There is so much hate on this forum...I personally believe it was simply an accident. None of us knows EXACTLY what has happened to this guy. He easily could have had a heart condition ... From what I remember there were a few Poles murdered recently in UK and I am sure it was also an unfortunate accident. I have lived here for 21 years and have nothing but positive things to say about this country. It is beautiful, people are very nice and polite and I have never ever encountered anything negative because I am Polish. Canada gave me the opportunity to make something of myself and I did. Certain people on this forum probably had a bad experience, but it does not mean every Polish person visiting will be treated like a criminal. I invite all Poles with open arms and hope to prove people like puzzler wrong.

Nice post Mika. Your experience echoes that of people of different nationalities that I know who have been warmly welcomed in Canada.

I think that Mika and Puzzler are on the opposite side of the spectrum when it comes to Canada.
