It is only my observation but it is obsession about children, having children talking non stop about them ( ever so boring some women in my work they don't seem to have anything more to say) Everything is so materialistic Christmas shopping from September.....buying buying things for children they not even enjoy it so much. Is it buying their love?

The children thing is true, it's all about the 'one for me syndrome' and yes I find it a little bit boring when people talk non stop about their kids. The buying kids affection is also true, parents spend less time with their kids due to work etc., so it's a case of instead of quality time they buy them something....It's quite sad. Both of my brothers coach the teams my nephews play on (one plays rugby one plays football) in order for them to spend time with the boys, but I come from a family where family is important, take for instance when my sister turned 40 last year, they had a party which the children could attend so it was more a family afair as a posed to an adults only - it all depends on what you value really.

Maybe I shouldn't say it but maybe it is connected also with religion?
You come from catholic family so family is important for you. I don't know much about Irish culture but even watching some irish films they seem to be very family orientated.

I heard someone saying in my work .....oh religion is dodgy....She doesn't know anything about it just completely indifferent ,shallow attitude.

I was born to 2 Catholic Irish parents, for me religion causes too many problems in this world as it is. I think it comes down to the individual at the end of the day.. Oh and i prefer Rugby..!

I'm not sure, we're just a close family and enjoy each others company, we have good banter and dont sit round the TV - the art of conversation hasnt quite died off in our family.

You seem to come form nice family. It is strange as I am the only child I had always lots friends who came from bigger families. My best friend has 4 sister and 1 brother.
I like all of them they are so close and they really help each other a lot.

I wouldn't say that your spelling is awful. But if you really want to change something in your post, just press the "edit" button, which is located in the left upper corner of your message.

Thank you, they are, I have two older brothers who I go out for drinks with which is always an entertaining night - it's quite funny me and my middle brother have still to get past the bickering stage...I think we're too much alike....People can tell straight off that we're related we all have the same mannerisms

I blame it on the parents, a lot of children don’t read, so not only do they spell badly they cant even construct a sentence or put words in the right context

That is why when I will get old and vunerable I want to come back to Poland.

You may end up very surprised iwona. Few months ago I read an article about so called Generation T. It seems that girls between the age of 16-18 already caught up with boys when it comes to taking drugs and drinking alcohol. Also worth mentioning is the bad behavior of the pupils which is occurring in Gymnasiums all over the country. Some teachers have problems with carrying out lessons because of the constant harassment being carried out on them by the youth. They don’t have any respect for the teachers, nor even their parents.

Of course, Polish papers, just like the English ones, like to exaggerate in order to increase the sale of the circulation. It’s not that we are facing now a epidemic of bad behavior and disobedience among the whole young generation, but we can treat those articles as a sign that something is changing in our good old country.

In the case of reports about the youth in England, it's true the kids are horrible and violent and think nothing of having multiple partners at the age of 14!.....as for drink and drugs, some are dependant as early as 10 years old....

I agree-kids in england are horrible but we are talking only about bad features of english people.
I must admit that english elderly people are very very nice and helpful in daily life situations
They dont care about your nationality when u need or ask fo something as young people used to do.

The society is raising the children.
Nowadays both parents have to work. The nanny that raises your child is doing it mostly for the money and it's not in her interest to raise your child.

All my neices and nephews were looked after by their grand parents, maybe the odd day in nursery just so they could mix with other kids, they're all wonderfull children, nurchering starts at a young age maybe this is why they are the way they are.

Polish women in uk are not nice very untrustworthy. They will show an interest in you and then ditch you once they get what they want. Also I have had a Polish girl ask me on a date always planning ahead. She agreed to meet me last night but surprise surprise she did not turn up and does not answer her phone. I went out of my way to help this girl by getting her a new job so she would stay in this country and also I bought her flowers on getting a new job. She was made up with the flowers and couldnt stop kissing me so you can imagine how I feel when she stands me up 3 days later

The fact that you had altierier motives kinda shows why she ditched you.. by getting her the job you were obviously expecting something in return and sound a bit slimey to me.

Did you expect to get into her pants, after buying her flowers?

I too was stood up by couple Polish girls, and I am Polish. ???????????????
I am tired of hearing guys complain how Polish girl disappointed them, that Polish girls can’t be trusted.
You sound like bunch of teenagers or young men.
I am wondering, if your encounters with Polish women are your first encounters with women.

Stop fucken whining, carping. If you are seeking comfort, go to your mothers.
Do not pretend to be men by posting your sobful stories here.

To answer your reply there was no alterior motive and I am not slimey thank you very much.I have been out a few times with this girl before and at the end of each date it was her who suggested another date by ringing her. This girl was very depressed in her previous job because it was night work and I was trying to help her out to look for the kind of work she was interested in which was working with children. She starts her new job tomorrow and she will be receiving £10 an hour.By the way opts she does not like Polish men I wonder why.

I do not care whether the Polish girl likes Polish men or not. I was addressing you, your whining, carping and your slandering of all Polish women.

Ok, Im a Polish who was born and raised in Montreal> My mother is polish born in Canada and my father was born in Warsaw. I have had soo many experiences with Polish people of all ages from all over. You simply cant stereotype us at all. I know pleanty of lovely intellient girls that arent Polish and Polish girls who are utterly horrible, and vice versa. I consider myself Polish and im proud of my roots but when im asked about my nationality I always am fiercly proud to be Canadian. People are people reguardless of where they come from and that doenst make them good or bad. Respect us for who we are reguardless of where we are. Because unfounded stereotypes have caused so many problems for the world in the past. Thats my humble opinion think what you will

ps. and yes i can cook well and not just pierogi

oh yeah, we love stereotypes, don't we? what a comfort zone . anyways, just kidding. I'm Polish (obviously) but I can't cook almost anything and in fact it's my Turkish boyfriend who taught me how to cook a few things... so ditch the stereotypes or expectations based on nationality.

I am really wondering why people are so shocked that British don't cook as much, but prefer to microwave frozen dishes - it's because it's so much easier to do and such a time saver in their hectic lifes! also, in Poland, such food is rather expensive as opposed to US or UK. I bet that some Europeans who move to those countries will opt to eat that food sometimes as well.
