Hello,
My girlfriend and I are strongly considering moving back to Australia next year. We were wondering many things about this.
To start, we have looked in to a visa as a partner.......this will allow her to work, live there legally etc. but it is very expensive 1200 euros. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Is there a better visa or process you could recommend?

Would a student visa be a better idea?

Also - any people in similar situations who are now in OZ would be great to talk with more.

Thanks,
Dave

What sort of work is she looking for? Ideally you should try and get someone to sponsor you both on a 457 visa, Thats what I'm on :)

This is how a Polish friend of mine did it. He completed studies there and now teaches at a private Catholic school. He wanted to be a teacher. He was a teacher in Poland. He reached his objective and he had no support there whatsoever.

Your gf will be fine. Go for it.

Good luck, Dave!
